Site | last.fm | iTunes | RSS You know the types of threads that crop up in GBS, D&D or PYF that involves mocking the more unique parts of the internet (or all things tumblr)? The F Plus is best described as that in audio form. To be more specific, each episode lasts about an hour and consists of reading things that people really fetishise, believe or are just plain idiots about and then proceeding to mock the poo poo out of it. The topics in question can be something as simple as terrible recipes and cooking ideas, really bad OKCupid profiles... or they can be the kind of creepy you get from PUAs, or even adult babies. Though sometimes you get the just plain weird topics like wrapping Roy Orbison (and only Roy Orbison) in clingfilm. So, if it's the kind of thing that's either flatout terrible or just plain weird it's either already got an episode (or two!) dedicated to it, or it'll inevitably happen eventually. There's only 84 episodes at the time of writing, so there's plenty of crazy to take in already either way. (click for large) So, just who are the brave, unfortunate souls who actively put up with these things? Well... there's 15 regular hosts with a slew of additional guests too. It's not as bad as it sounds though, since there's only ever a few people on any given episode so you get a pretty good variety of people to listen to. And it's quite a distinct variety too, ranging from completely random goons to other people podcasts and even including burlesque model Ophelia Flame at one point. So, what's a good episode to start with? Personally, I'd recommend the Roy Orbison episode linked above, the first WikiHow episode, the TVTropes episode or if you just want pure crazy then your best bet is the Pokegirls episode. On the flipside, there's also Irregular which is made and run by the same people as The F Plus. In Irregular, however, rather than explicit mockery it's more of an interesting discussion with the more sane members of certain groups. There's only three episodes of Irregular thus far, however, so you're not really spoilt for choice. If that's more your kind of thing, you can choose between self-published erotica authors, self-described asexuals or the usual internet standby of furries. There really is something for everyone in either of these, so you really can't go wrong picking one at random to listen too! The early episodes are a bit rough, though, but that's on more of a technical level than the content. Still worth mentioning so you're not too surprised by it.

There's a new episode up, and it's faster than I expected too! It's really, really bad poetry by nerds about such things as juggalos, school and what I assume to be facebook (among others). e; beaten, but I did link to it.

Jeez, what did you guys do to Montrith to get her to respond with this? Unlike the Sissykiss stuff, it had some funny moments... but not enough to counteract the awful.

Here's the link to it. Crazies writing music (or, rather, claiming to) seems like it should be interesting, alright.

Y'know, last night I was looking through the archives to find an episode or 2 to listen to. I was surprised to see Skanzig were in one of the episodes, since I completely forgot all about that.

The Reddit content was probably in the many, many submissions on the topic that they didn't use on account of being too awful. Which, now that I think about it, is kind of impressive. Just for all the wrong reasons.

steinrokkan posted:The first F+ I encountered was TVTropes. Yeah, same. It was either linked or mentioned in the old PYF mock thread, and I absolutely loved it. I think my favourite would be either the first WikiHow episode or the Malatora one though. Mighty Dicktron posted:It just occurred to me that the title of the thread is misspelled. Enthusiam. Dammit. There's always one. Always.

The only thing that really surprised me about this episode was that the contributor wasn't Montrith. I guess after that first experience witnessing adult babies, and yeah the bug episode, everything else just seems tame in comparison. vv

A Meat posted:I'd imagine that you can find people on this very forum who are fan artists and who'd be glad to talk about their eccentricity for an hour. In a sense, that's already been done. Remember the Kindleporn episode? The three people in that one all posted in a thread based on that very topic in BFC, before it got shut down.

Fallout Equestria used to come up pretty often in the TvTropes thread (and/or similar ones), so I imagine most people who listen to the podcast and post on here already know all about it. ...But seriously, that fourth (and fifth) book is loving huge jesus. It's like they took their writing design from the Harry Potter books but in the worst possible way: more books need more words!

There's also a new episode up. Said episode is all about some guy called Dozerfleet who I remember was the sole focus of the TVTropes thread for some reason a while back.

The Allrecipes (for kids!) stuff is always pretty great, yeah. The Storyprovider stuff is too, for that matter. Really, all the readings of silly poo poo is often funnier than the creepy weirdos in the more normal sense, but the weirdos are often funnier in the "how the gently caress is this even a thing" sense.

I don't think it really matters if it is real or not. If its real, then sure whatever, gotta do what you gotta do to survive, right? If its fake, then that's pretty special and requires some kinda amazingly broken mentality to actively want to play pretend at being homeless for internet cred. On a completely more positive note that thing Lemon quoted at the start works way too well with Aqualung, jeez.

Ariong posted:This episode is the closest I've come, as far as I know, to gagging from just the thought of something. Yeah, same. The adult babies poo poo and the bug dudes were gross and weird, but they were the funny kind of gross and weird. Maybe later I'll be thinking the same about this one (I know the bugs one in particular took a second listen) but, uh, considering this is the only episode I've been listening to in short bursts to take a break from the... imagery, I'm inclined to think that's wrong.
