From what I can gather it's like meditating, then you imagine a different self who's able to help you with your whatever stuff, which I find immensely less interesting than the system they were coming up with where you go into the universe where you've got an amazing girlfriend and steal her. (My favorite part of this one was the 'my doppelganger told me to take a dirigible ride to the bahamas and that's not even possible' line.)

It's been deleted now but for a short while Onideus, the web developer/adult baby fetish guy from the 100th episode exskaviganska, was posting in the comments on Episode 100, gloating about how he was the admin of Encyclopedia Dramatica and how much higher ED's ranking was than The F Plus. He also seemed a bit confused by the idea of a podcast. While the comments are now gone, he also bragged about a book which he was writing, and all the research he had done for it. Have a look at the topics he had in mind: My favorites are: 'Technology - Internet - Crushing Noob Website Dreams', 'Society - Racism - Poverty, Not Skin Color', everything under 'Religions - Christians', that 'Personal - Work' is comprised of Wal-Mart and a video store, 'Animals - Anthropomorphism' and 'Technology - Internet - Reality Manipulation Art & Troll Conspiracies'.

Honestly what he's describing in the story sounds more like video dating. You just kinda make a one-sided conversation and then I guess you get matched up with people whose conversation meshed with yours. That isn't really how humans talk but nothing will get in the way of spergbot dating.

Really? I don't think she was in that, and she's not listed as one of the readers. I just figured she was busy drawing dragons (rarr rarr). It's sad that honestly I was prepared for most of the brony stuff. While there was some new stuff, a lot of it (tulpas and the guy who's married to Twilight Sparkle) is stuff I already know about. It was still a great episode, just less of a trip into terrifying unknowns like the clown episode. However this whole post is just an excuse to post this from the NaNoWriMo episode's comments.

Cleretic posted:I'm kind of surprised how not disgusting this episode was. I was expecting to be retching constantly, but there was no mention of bin juice, or amorphous disgusting blobs of ex-food, or anything like that. Just... people in garbage bags, trying not to be seen in garbage bags. There's a definite difference between what I'd call the 'fetish' episodes and the 'kink' episodes. Kink episodes are where people who were into mildly deviant things wanted to get more extreme. For instance, adult babies or clown porn, which both had pretty heavy BDSM overtones and were both really gross. Then there's the 'fetish' episodes, like eyeglasses or sinking, where the focus isn't so much on 'sex but we're clowns/babies' but on the material that, while relatively tame to the outsider, is clearly how the people are getting off.

I am brought low by those more podcast famous than me. I was legitimately giddy to hear that there was a Dozerfleet episode. He's Ulililia without the heart of gold, or like if CWC wrote his own Conservapedia articles. Every detail is on that wiki. The file structure of his desktop computers. Every trivial life event. Pictures of the girls he creeped on. () I totally believe Lemon when he said they went way over time while recording it. Every section on the wiki has enough content for an episode. I've been meaning to do something with one of the books Dozerfleet released for free, but it's just so much.

The person who made the comment about not liking The F Plus has been someone who's accused Portaxx of stalking them, among other things, ever since Portaxx said she didn't want to work with him because he had a porn gallery that made her uncomfortable. Gimnbo posted:Yeah I didn't feel this episode was as strong because I couldn't really do more than roll my eyes a lot at the stuff being read. These really sound like run of the mill nerds who got lucky in the human connection lottery and it's hard to poo poo on them too hard for doing what they want. The big moral of the episode, as Lemon says, is that if you have an open bar you can do whatever you want with your celebration. Your mind has better content filters than mine, then. There were two Portal jokes within twenty seconds of each other, one with cake (though it wasn't "the cake is a lie" at least), and that one was also followed with a callout to Portal in case anyone missed it. I like this episode because it's not terrible, it's just mostly dumb, and I think there's a lot of good stuff you can do when your material is just dumb and annoying as opposed to actively infuriating or gross or fetishy or any combination of the three. Part of it also is how firmly all of these weddings hit the most obvious stereotypes of nerds. I agree with Lemon's sentiment that what most of these people needed was to focus, because their weddings were just a hodgepodge of references. (Twin Peaks wedding, while more focused, was dumb in a planned-by-a-marketing-executive way.) If you want to do a Skyrim wedding that's cool but when you have a Skyrim Wii Gears of Portal Fallout Carnival wedding and call people "bridesdudes" then you're being ridiculous and hence perfect fodder for ridiculists.

To put it shortly, these people are making weddings to show how nerdy and cool and quirky they are to other people. Like in most areas, if you're trying to show off how weird you are to other people, that's easily mockable. See: Troper Tales. I wish you hadn't mentioned the steampunk wedding, because now I have to read it. Because I hate steampunk.

If you want to go against tradition, get married in some civil servant's office and then go out drinking with your friends. Replace "go out drinking with your friends" with whatever nerd thing you do, you goony fucks. Get married and then go to a con dressed up as Cecil and Rosa from Final Fantasy and go to the nerd rave with your cosplaying buddies where the DJ plays a trance remix of the Final Fantasy prelude. If you turn it into a "nerd wedding" to go against tradition, all you're saying is that you want to go against tradition, but you're too uncreative to do anything but stick pixels and Portal jokes onto the tradition.
