Biz map??
I travel a lot more than most for work, but not compared to a lot of y'all.
I forgot to pack underwear and socks on this 3 day trip to Reno. gently caress me.

So far this year, I have :
SWA -
45,619 points/70,000
101,726 Points/110,000
14/100 Flights

United -
6,870PQM / 25,000
9/30 flights

I think I'll be able to renew my companion pass for my gf on SWA in 8,250 points. I got her a companion pass through a credit card deal.. and of the flights we've taken this year NONE have been on SWA together. Fuckin pisss. Maybe next year I can get her flying for $11 :D

Southwest is matching status of any airline on the link below.

Is there an easy way to search for SWA flights?
I'm needing to get 2000 points either this or next weekend. Ideally, I'd find a flight that just ticks off the miles I need to get my 2020 companion pass, with out having to pay much more. And bonus points for it being somewhere I can have a cool over night.

Thoughts?

I'm out of DIA.
I managed to get all but 6 points! Which might be more frustrating ha. I have the SWA credit card, so I bought something dumb today and paid it off.. hoping that pushes me over the edge.

edit: SWA is pretty rad. They split my reservation into 2 with no charge. Put the gf on my flight out under companion status. We booked a flight for her return and when my statement goes through to get the 6 points I can call and get those refunded with her as the companion on the flight.
gently caress yea. Im going to puerto rico for xmas/nye!

Ugh so close. Probably the first time since I've ever thought about taking a flight just to get status. Dunno if any customers will want me to say hi to them before the end of the year.

My office has a corporate rate in Reno for some reason? So just ask if you have an office near by.

My wife and I have AA status and have actually had surprisingly good luck the handful of times we've flown this year. We've switched to flying out of DEN however, so presumably there aren't that many American flyers here.

That reminds me: it'd be silly for me not to switch to flying United if we live in Denver, right? I'm only asking because AA has a decent amount of direct flights out of here, and it seems like if we're flying internationally essentially anywhere except London or Frankfurt, we'll have to connect.

I'm basically united / swa with DIA home base. I prefer swa but it's limited.

Do ya'll find Clear to be worth the cost? I fly probably 2x a month with DEN as my home terminal. I have TSA Pre and I'm finding the whole north security gate is being converted to pre due to the number of people flying with it now. I fly with AV equipment and multiple laptops at times, so the ability to go through w/o pulling out everything is a godsend for me.
I think I get a reimbursement on GlobalEntry from my credit card, but I don't think that really helps me avoid the line.

. I should get a good laptop I could do some gaming on.

The steam deck from valve is very nice and has better portability imo. Also good pricing.
Will you be going to offices you work with, or client sites?

I don't travel like some here, but I get like 15 flights a year for work. Mine is a mix of my firm locations and client visits.
I really enjoy visiting remote offices and hanging out with people I have phone/email relationships with. I use it as a way to strengthen our bonds. I'm able to expense lunch etc for office managers or techs etc.
I'm in IT, and not energy location has a tech, so I grease up my biggest remote helping hands. It keeps me from hunting down in a hotel.

I also like to walk around the new cities and take it in.

I have the Patagonia 40L Black hole; seems its either 40L or 55L. Waterproof and durable. Basically just a duffle w/ no pockets etc tho. Works well to just stuff full for me.

I wasn't sure of a better group to ask. I'm taking a flight with a buddy and his kids. Well he misspelt his kids name, and now we're trying to get it corrected before we fly.
Its going from Addion to Addison, direct book from United.com. It is international travel, from USA to Japan. Is it typical for this to be a charged change? At first they were looking at $450, but then after talking to them they brought it down to $200 to change the name on the flight. I have premier silver member status.

Minor name changes/name corrections should be free or low fee. $450 or $200 both sound incorrect—fare difference is not collectible, and these fees are usually not negotiable as the fees should be pretty clearly communicated.

That was my thought.
They fixed it at the airport luggage check, didn't seem that the phone assistant even made the said change. We'll have to check if the charge went through, or if we can refund.

Thanks.

Ahh ok, you’re right it does say 737-900 in the app. I didn’t realize the 737-900 and 737 MAX 9 were different planes. Thanks for the clarification!

I was just reading wikipedia about this as well. what a poor naming scheme. Although, does anyone actually cancel/change flights based on the plane? I gotta get to the thing, the plane type is low on my list of must haves.
