Werdsmith's update finally came out, and the feature that I paid premium for a few months ago is now a subscription-only feature, so gently caress that. Can anyone recommend an iOS Universal app that lets me offline-sync text notes (drawings not important, colouring in certain words would be nice but optional) without needing a subscription? Being able to sync with Dropbox would be ideal so I can keep working on files on my PC. Pages would have been perfect with the iCloud syncing, but since it's creating proper documents as opposed to simple text files, the word wrap obviously doesn't adapt depending on what device I'm reading things on, which makes stuff tricky to read between my iPhone and iPad. The offline syncing is the main feature as I'm outside of a decent signal a lot of the time, so being able to update my iPhone/iPad to the latest version of each file before I leave the house is very handy. edit: Elements looks pretty good, any goon got it and could comment? I would love one of those "Smart" alarm clocks to wake me up at a good time, but I really don't want to give up the soothing tones of Uniqlo Wake Up's voice telling me the time and the weather first thing in the morning. Do any of the sleep cycle apps have a nice voice that can read out time and weather on wake-up? Also, do most people leave their phone plugged in and move the phone underneath the bedding, or how exactly is the best way to put it? I'd want to keep my phone charging overnight, but would they be sensitive enough to be placed in one corner of a double bed even if I happen to have moved onto the other side in my sleep? edit: So long as I'm asking questions, how well do they work in Do Not Disturb mode? I'm hoping one day to find a decent cataloguing app for keeping track of my DVDs/games (what I own, what's been lent out to friends, etc.).
Any suggestions, or am I basically stuck with an unsupport app, one that will cost a fortune in the long-run, or one without a great barcode database or pretty looks?

Minidust posted:Blu-ray.com has a great collection app. You set up a collection on the website and the app syncs with it, although you can add movies (via search or barcode scanner) directly through the app as well. DVD movies and games for Xbox 360/PS3 are also supported. You can label each entry as "owned," "ordered," "rented," "loaned," "for sale," or whatever custom category you create via the website. It's free and has been updated fairly regularly since its release! Kind of a shame I can't cover PS2 and DS games as well, but I'll survive. Can't seem to find an iPad version, but I suppose I had to live with iCollect's lack of native iPad version for this long too.

Watchlater will do that, but unfortunately I can't see a way to get the files back out of the app and onto your PC if you want to watch them on anything other than that iPad.

I've never got people who will always "f0ll0wb4ck" on Twitter - your feed just becomes a total mess of One Direction and Justin Bieber fans with no actual content. Is having ten thousand followers really that important to them? Anyway, Vine looks neat, but it's missing some really obvious stuff that would've made it awesome, like front-facing camera options or the ability to record in chunks throughout the day. Or, worst of all, being able to save a video for later uploading if you don't currently have internet access.

What don't you like about the sound management and alarm clock? For alarm clock apps, you have to leave them active (though you can lock the screen) for them to function fully. As for sound management, anything too in-depth and you'll possibly need to jailbreak, which isn't too bad since the 6.1 jailbreak just came out a few days ago.

On the Alarm screen, on the top-left there should be an Edit button which brings up little red circles to delete the alarms, but you can tap on the time to edit the alarm time, sound, recurrence, etc.

Siri is perfect for setting reminders when I'm pretty vague on when I want reminded. "Tomorrow afternoon" or "in around half an hour" are perfectly valid times to set reminders for.

I see Polaris Office (http://appshopper.com/business/polaris-office) is on sale today. Does anyone know if it's any good with formatted Word 2010 files? I've yet to see an office app that can open a docx file with properly laid out header1/header2 etc text.

Downcast can do that. You copy the mp3 in via iTunes then there's an option in Tools called "File Import" or something like that.

Do all the streaming radio services block iOS access unless you have a paid subscription? I'd love to have a service where I can put in a few favourite artists/songs and it'll create stations for me. I don't want to pay a subscription since I wouldn't use it often, so I have no problem with the odd short advert being placed into the playlist every now and then. Bonus marks if it has a good selection of Japanese rock and metal because I'm a nerd for that poo poo.

In the UK we tend not to get a lot of extreme weather, mostly varying levels of drizzle, so I suppose when it comes to big poo poo like storms in America I can see why people are less convinced by it.

I'm considering making the switch from Instapaper to Pocket after hearing that Pocket supports offline video. I've tried adding a YouTube link to my Pocket list but it still seems to cache it from the internet any time I go to play it. Am I doing something stupid or did I mishear about the offline video support? If Pocket can do video, then I can scrap having separate apps for offline reading and viewing (Instapaper and Watch It Later, respectively) which would be handy.
