Yeah what the gently caress, I'm a Harvest Moon fan who is playing this for the first time, and on Summer 8th my farm looks absolutely nothing, like not even the same genre of game, as the Sim City 3000 poo poo I'm seeing here

Stardew is the best harvest moon or rune factory or SOS game ever made, and you don't even have to take sides on the xSeed VS whatever the other company is debate

And to add to that, alcohol (wine, beer, pale ale, mead) cheese, and goat cheese can be raised to silver-gold-iridium by putting them in a Cask.

Well, cheese/goat cheese double in value in only 14 days, so they're the best from that perspective (wine takes 56 days to double in value)

But Starfruit Wine 'creates' the most money at 40 added gold per day in the cask (goat cheese only creates 29 additional gold per day)

Beer/pale ale/mead are pretty crappy uses of the cask, as are any wines other than Starfruit and Ancient Fruit. A mix of Primo Wine and Goat Cheese is the way to go if you really wanna sperg.

(EDIT I did a math bad)

You have 2 options here:

I forget about option 2 all the time. I think Pierre only sells off season produce though so you might still have to wait.

Doesn't Pierre just randomly sell things that you've recently sold to him?? I didn't know he had a random produce menu

Most of the bachelors and Bachelorettes have big hopes and dreams outside of the village and you crush them by marrying them

The only ethical candidates are

Shane - just wants to pound cold ones and pet chickens

Penny - her only ambitions are for the trailer to be clean

Abigail - big tiddy goth gf

I know people either really like or really hate the fishing. I really like it. I also like the new fish ponds although it would be nice if there was some rhyme or reason to when they produce roe. I put midnight squid in a pond for two weeks and never produced anything

The formula for ponds is fully known for every fish. It does a check based on population and most will have a 90% chance of giving something when the pond has 10 fish in it.

Those are fun ideas. I love the concept of Challenges in general, too

Stardew has more than enough "content" to me where I don't really care about another NPC or more heart events or a new Crop or anything, but it would be great to have a system like that to make every run feel fresh and unique

I have nearly 500 hours in steam and just started playing the xbox version on Sunday, when my girlfriend decided to start playing for the first time. Now we are playing together and I love it- but I'm also kind of glad the update is behind on console because I'm trying very hard not to power-game her to death, so our (her) first farm isn't terribly efficient. Small plots, no real progress on the community center, not keeping stock backups for quests etc. Just taking things one piece at a time and letting her get the feel of it all. To her credit, she's in love with the game. Once the update gets pushed I think it'll be a good time to start fresh and really go for gold.

I've only played like ~10 days of co-op but holy moly I can't believe how well it works, for a game that wasn't designed as co-op!
