I'm getting close to Winter in my first year, and I've realized I'm ONE gold-star pumpkin shy of the Quality bundle. Am I just hosed till next year, or is it possible for one to turn up in the merchant or something before then?

Guildenstern Mother posted:You won't get quality crops from the merchant sadly. Just going to have to wait for fall or pray you sold one to Pierre and he tries to sell it back to you, but even that might be forage only. Having no greenhouse for winter 1 is rough but it's not at all an uncommon first experience. You'll make it and there's no real consequences for it. You could use the indoor planter granny gives you and try feeding any leftover pumpkins to the seedmaker. Dangit. It's not a big deal, just frustrating.

I've finally hit the point where my daily income is just stupid. My animals give me a baseline 10k off milk, mayo and truffles, I've JUST gotten the Greenhouse, and finished the house with the Cellar full of casks waiting for my wine to brew. Just got to up my Oak treefarm's size, because that's the bottleneck on more kegs. Now I just need a way to not suck at fishing so I can stand a chance of completing the Community Center, because that's all that's left to it. Use trapper bobbers it reduces the speed with which the escape bar lowers when it’s outside the catch zone. You can also level fishing by planting a million crab pots somewhere. Make good that raises fishing beyond level 10 too, it really helps. Well I know what I'm doing then! (My fishing skill is still 1) Can I just stuff them into the ponds on my farm?

You'll only be able to hook easy, unstarred fish, but at least you don't have to deal with the frustration of hooking a fish that's hard to catch. Ahh, that makes more sense.

She also mentions she loved exploring the farm before you moved in, as well as wanting to try delving into the Mines, so living on the farm's fantastic as far as she's concerned. Also age-wise, I took most of them for being mostly about 23-ish on average (maybe 18-20 for Sam and Maru). Just starting their adult lives in earnest, and in some cases it's getting stifling being around their parents.

Their floor is a touch higher. I think Robin and Demetrius set the bar, because they're probably like late-30's to early/mid 40's. That limits Sebastian to about early-20's at the latest, and if he's about par for everyone else, or slightly older, you can extrapolate the others from there that aren't the three explicitly-stated older bachelors (Elliot, Harvey and Shane).

Can't for the life of me understand why Lewis didn't like my Grange Display this year. He loved last year's and gave me first place after all, but something about this year's really seemed to upset him. Marnie seemed to like the special purple lettuce I used as the centerpiece, so it can't have been that. Maybe he was just jealous of the Prismatic Shard, or allergic to the Iridium-quality Duck Feather? Certainly went better than the Luau, I'll give it that much. The Governor sure didn't like the soup, must be a picky eater or something...

Pththya-lyi posted:Stardew canon pairings, ranked by how much I believe their relationships would last: Elliot and Leah would probably be super into eachother for about a month, then realize they're TOO alike and break up. Sebastian and Abigail would either just peter out on its own, or when he inevitably leaves for a life in Zuzu city and she wants to stay in the valley. Alex and Haley have a loveless marriage out of inertia, have a kid, probably become the next generation of Pam and Penny. Penny and Harvey, if you gotta pair them all off, would also be the better pairing as she's a caregiver type anyway. Ditto for Sam and Haru in their contrasts. Also I'll take a frosty and small fries, please.

Just finished building Penny and Pam's house, picking the option telling Pam to be nicer to Penny, and decided to go into their home to check it out... ...Triggering an even where Penny's cleaning the house, and Pam comes in furious because everything got tidied away. Way to keep your promise, Pam! You didn't even last five minutes! (Also the event's clearly meant to be on the trailer map, because Pam just pops into existence in the middle of the kitchen area ).

I accidentally put down a very explosive egg in the middle of new well-equipped dairy overflow shed instead of a regular egg into one mayo machine among many . Had to restart the day in shame on that one . It's also amazing how the game makes you want to expand. I just wanted A barn and A coop, but then I got Shane's chickens so I HAD to get second coop just for those. And now with the Island I'm spending days away at a time, so I've made an over-equipped Big Shed so I can just go through them all when I return and process everything at once. And of course I'll need a second Barn for Ostriches...

I also need like 400,000g but, well, I have a Greenhouse full of Ancient Fruit and a Big Shed of Kegs seeing to that minor problem .
