Dang, I really dig it.

The only other Chairlift song I've ever heard was Amanaemonesia. Should I check out the rest of their albums if I like both of those? Or is there one or two other songs I should see if like first?

Man, both of those tracks kick rear end. I heard Heartless on the radio and its pretty good, but Blinding Lights is everything I didn't know I needed.

There are two new The Chain Gang of 1974 songs out. I'm really digging this one:

I really dig this song, which was apparently a song for their greatest hits album:

I normally hate songs that heavily sample better songs from the 80s, but "Break My Heart" is a decent bop. Kind of surprised it hasn't been bigger.

It seemed pretty big. I haven't listened to the radio a ton since the Quarantine started but the few times I did go out I seem to recall hearing it on my pop station.

Lil Nas X released a new song. It's not my favorite, but I did find myself humming it last night after 1.5 listens so its got the catchy factor.

More importantly, the music video is ridiculous. At the very least I love how all out he's willing to go with his visuals. Potentially not safe for work, since it involves pole dancing/simulated sex imagery stuff.

I feel like it could have been much more energetic. It has a great melody and they could have gone full George Michael with a big backing chorus and more powerful vocals (which is one thing I liked about Green Light) but really muted, "smaller" feeling production is in, even for poppier songs like this. Lorde was one of the people that originally pushed pop in that direction so I guess it's fitting, but I feel like it could have benefitted from feeling huge, especially as what seems to be a comeback single and "power" is in the name.

She grabbed both Christine and Caroline Polachek for her new single? Wow its like Charlie XCX was looking at my recent spotify plays when she went looking for collabs. I thin I found both of those artists through SA at some point or another but still... awesome.

It's a pretty simple song, but man does the second verse seem so low effort in terms of lyrics.

This is a year old but I dunno if it was ever posted here and I love it so so much.

It's basically 100 percent a blatant riff on mixing 80s homages like Peter Gabriel and Talking Heads and I'm here for that. If any other artists have recently done something like this, please, please link it here because I can't get enough:

I'm a pretty big fan of some of the music blink did even with Skiba, plus Mark had some stuff I liked with Simple Creatures and the last Angels and Airwaves album had one song I really, really liked. It's definitely poppy, but considering the thread were in, that's not a bad thing. Generally, I look forward to more music from all of them because although they release stuff I don't care for pretty often, they occasionally have something that's like its made just for my taste.

Stuff I liked:

Here's a song that came up on my spotify. I really like it... but I also feel like I've 100 percent heard this EXACT vibe before in another song, if that makes sense.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wF5zazjMBs

My first instinct is that it gives me (Don't read the spoiler before listening through at least the first chorus because I don't want to poison your brains in advance) Robyn "Call Your Girlfriend" vibes, and that's what's triggering my brain to think "you've heard this before" But I'm wondering if there another song even more similar. Because I relistened to the spoiled song and while it has similar vibes and maybe a similar vocal performance? it's not quite exactly the same.

EDIT: DAMNIT. Fixed the tags now, but still...

Well, this definitely predates the Churches song by quite a bit, and I sort of see it, but the thing that triggers my brain is the vocal performance, specifically in the chorus. Specifically on the "let it show.. oh-oh-oh-oh" as well as the ending of the chorus "so don't let me go". I'm just getting hyper audio deja vu.

I listened to some of this and it feels like the modern day equivalent of the edgy nu-metal and dark/violent rap that I liked in high school. Not for me anymore, but I get why it has an audience.

But it also definitely makes me wonder how much longer we're going to keep the trend of turning children's songs/rhymes into pop hooks. It's not really anything new but I feel like its happening a LOT more than it used to.

I'm super behind on listening to music in my spotify queue and today Caroline Polachek's newest album just came up. The opening track is incredible.

The rest of the album is great too, I particularly like Sunset. But man, Welcome to My Island is perfect as an album opener and is everything I love about her music. I can't stop listening to it.

A lot of people don't like Free as a Bird, and I don't know if its mostly down to the production or if they don't actually like the song. I like the overall melody and verses more than I like Real Love, though Real Love definitely has an awesome chorus.

I would love to hear updated versions given the same treatment as this song.

I get where he's coming from. To me the song is boring when its slow and then still boring while being fast, the worst combination. I just don't think it has a hook that I like, which is generally what I look for in pop music. I think if anyone had released it as their first single, they wouldn't have a career.
