Charli XCX is a way better rapper than Iggy. Brunette supremacy as usual

Iggy is really bad, and I wish people would start realizing all the people she's collaborating with are the ones making her famous. I also saw Charli live a few weeks back and she was awesome.

I was pretty disappointed. It just seemed rushed, and sloppy. Half the album was watered down pop punk, and the other felt like it was trying to recreate Fancy.

This is how I felt. I love her stuff, but aside from the singles she already dropped prior to, everything new felt bland and not her.

Going to see Charli XCX on Friday with a couple of friends, but having watched her latest video (Famous) and seen the angel wings, crop tops and lip balm on sale in her merch store... I've realised we may have horribly over-estimated the age of her fanbase and this will be the most awkward gig ever as we prop up the bar feeling uncomfortable while everyone else at the gig has been dropped off there by their parents.

I saw her in October last year and she owned bones. I was afraid of the age group too, but it was not nearly as young as I thought it might be. Some older teens, but it felt like mostly 21+. It was in spooky Detroit, though, so it may have scared off younger fans/over protecting parents.

Out of nowhere, iTunes hit me with a song I'd never heard, by some artist I'd never heard of. Naturally it blew me the gently caress away, and if it gets legs, I could see this being the hit of the summer. one of the posts I read about it called it a mixture of Rhianna and Tove Lo, but the piano throughout reminds me of that early-2000's R&B sound.

Alessia Cara - Here

I had this pop up on a new music Tuesday track last week and was instantly hooked on it too. I hope she makes more music like this and isn't just some one hit Youtuber.

Also in pop cover news: Bleachers released a free album on Google Play of covers from their album. Carly Rae Jepsen, Sia, and Charli XCX and Sara Barielles are among the artists with a song on it, which proves once again that Jack Antonoff has excellent taste in pop music.

This. Dude is awesome. I ran into him before his and Charli's show a few months back and he immediately recognized my shirt and knew who Elliphant was. I was so excited for both reasons.

The night didn't get off to a great start because the arena basically treated Tove Styrke like a sound check and it was awful. For the whole of her first song they weren't even piping the instruments into the arena and didn't do anything about it until she said something. I don't think they actually got the sound balance right until like the second-last song of her set. I felt terrible for her, that must've been a super awkward performance

Ya, this is usually why I stray from arenas. After having to pay well over 100 dollars to have a decent view that isn't on some dumb rear end angle in the stands, the sound quality is always trash. I'm hoping to scoop up a ticket on the cheap around the day of it from people bailing.

I've seen her in a smaller venue and it was a loving party, and I've seen her in a large venue where she seemed bored.

I second she is far better in smaller settings. Much more intimate and wild.

E》 When she co headlined with Bleachers at bigger venues a few years back, she canceled the rest of her part of the tour a few days later. She looked visual unhappy playing in large places.
