The first time I heard Titanium it was at a bar doing karaoke and some girl was doing it off key and man I don't know a better way to ruin a pop song on the first listen.

Fixed Gear Guy posted:How about Lights? I can't wait for her acoustic album. I saw her at a small venue in a suburban area and it was the est show of my life. A bunch of us waited outside her tour bus until 3 AM for her to come out and hang. The show was on 4/20 and I think her and her band mates were in the bus getting ripped beforehand. I've got her autographed Siberia LP on my wall! I find both of her albums ridiculously fun but I feel like a lot of what makes me enjoy her music will be lost on an acoustic album.

I've said before that I couldn't believe how bad a Katy Perry single was. And, to note, I do like some of her singles. That said, holy poo poo I can't believe how bad that song is.

fuseshock posted:This is pretty funny. Oh Katy... her actual voice isn't too awful. I expected this to be way worse. A lot of pop stars lip sync/use backing tracks when doing dance heavy performances. You can actually see that she's completely and rather awkwardly breaking her choreography so she has more breath. I don't think this is even a thing. weekly font fucked around with this message at 13:29 on Dec 20, 2013 |

It’s no EMOTION but nothing will be. This is still an amazing pop album that expands her pool of 80s inspirations out from pure bubble gum pop to Prince, Hall and Oates and a lot more. That makes it feel less cohesive but it still bops straight through. Emotion is an A+ but this is likely an A or A-

You can't be 30 singing like you're 16 forever.
