I think Zack actually answered questions about all those kids back when he showed up on his friends streams. Basically the answer is they aren't all from the school, Mayview in general is a bit meeting place for spirits and such, and the school is a hotspot from some reason. I can't remember if at this point in the comic he established the "ghosts don't have feet" rule yet. They might some be spirits. Also I just want to mention how clever having ghosts and spirits look purple when you first start seeing them works on that page. It seems like just "unimportant background" coloring and then BAM empty hallway. I don't think I've seen a single person actually notice the purple and expect that. I think non-spectrals are like objects. It's always been shown to be very bright and vibrant, the trails of stuff Forge produces have been way more subdued in comparison, and has that "tssssh" sound effect which brings to mind water hitting something super hot too. My favorite thing is when Forge was being told that the weird dog things seek out and follow the most evil thing and he immediately tries to command them. He at least thinks he's evil. But clearly isn't the most good at evil.

I hope literally every single important spirit character gives a big dumb lecture on morality and justice and goodness. Every one so far has at least one line I really like. It's way more obvious in the comedy but Zack is just so generally good at putting words together into sentences I really enjoy. I don't care much about Ava's Demons but those specific complaints are really funny in the context of this thread considering that Paranatural already has a huge cast and two human factions and AT LEAST two, possibly as many as four, spirit factions, with competing agendas and filled with individuals who themselves have their own mysterious agendas. I just counted. 31 characters important enough to make the cast page by this point in chapter four. Edit:And I just noticed Scraps isn't even on there. No Spenders spirits either. I think Dolash is blindly groping towards some form of a "Authentic/Unauthentic" dichotomy. Where there's some invisible and arbitrary rules of how to express something in a True and Meaningful way as opposed to a way that's "artificial" or "forced" or "pandering". One of those rules being apparently "don't acknowledge the problems out loud". All nonsense of course. Also it's funny to me(in a good way) that Zack's comic is already pretty good on this topic compared to a lot of poo poo and he still stops and thinks "I need to do better." I think the hearts are a double reference to both Agent Day's cupid powers and video game health bars/extra lives. Pretty sure Player 2 Start is a reference to Isabel, with Max being Player 1. That's going off really old and poorly remembered Zack Talk though so we should wait till the end of the chapter to see if something else pops up.
