I did Lionbridge all throughout college. It made me like $500-$700/month in extra money for a few hours a day. They used to let you just kind of do poo poo and as long as you did it okay you kept going. My wife is doing it now and they constantly make her do unpaid training, and if her quality rating slips down she has to do like several-hour training sessions that don't pay her. I honestly don't think Benny could handle it; his quality rating would go down and he'd probably just quit when they made him take one of those courses. He wouldn't be able to hit the ten hours per week minimum either.

My husband did Lionsbridge when he first moved to the US and got dumped pretty suddenly after six months and no dip in quality. I'm lucky in that the project I'm working with has such low volume that there's no posted minimum, but still. I'm also realizing that the reason that it all seems pretty easy is because I spent a couple of hours before I started reading the documents and chatting with other raters and things like that, something Benster wouldn't do.

Benny, if you're too good to take Starter Wiggins suggestions, then find a psychologist to diagnose your intellectual disability. You have an intellectual disability. Just admit that you have one, stop pretending to be smart. You can probably take that diagnosis to your next interview and a grocery store or something might hire you to stock shelves for a few hours a week. You won't get paid much but you'll make more than nothing and you won't get fired too quickly because they will know not to give you a task you can gently caress up and someone will be watching over you. I don't know what that would say about the language arts department at cal poly pomona, so don't advertise it, but if you do have a degree then they're partly to blame. That sounds hosed up and mean because early on in the thread you presented yourself as a somewhat weird dude who was just down on their luck and slow to take advice. But now we know that you're 1) a liar and 2) incredibly stupid and unprepared to deal with adulthood. I know people who can't read fluently because they have attention spans of less than 2 seconds who work harder than you have ever worked in your entire life. You will die if your mom stops taking care of you.

100% wage - An employee 50% wage - Mentally disabled employee 0% wage - lovely Benny The only 'job' he's been able to hold on to for more than a week (or two?) are volunteer positions, and probably only out of great compassion/pity. So yeah, it would be an enormous boon for Benny to be legally regarded as mentally disabled; he might get a job within his limited capabilities, and get paid! He could probably qualify for some kind of assisted living when his mom dies, because he's a million years away from being able to live as an adult. I still think his loving pathetically lazy attitude, self delusion(s) and habitual lying would put him at the bottom tier of usefulness in a room of garden variety mentally disabled. I mean, I'd rather coax button sorting out of a drooling, chronically masturbating product of institutionalized mental care than bicker with the endlessly avoidant, blame shifting lying piece poo poo that is Benny. Really, the only thing he can provably do is gnaw at his mothers aging teat, while crapping himself, like the loving pathetic baby he is. I mean, what kind of low point is needed beyond that to be some kind of motivator for change? Answer Starter Benny, you loving coward.

I've never really understood why Benny can't spend an hour each day taking surveys on Mechanical Turk. Its no way to make a living, but in the past I've made about $100 a month with really minimal effort of an hour or two a day between classes or after work while watching TV.

Yeah, I'm not a good writer and I make $30-50 a week on Textbroker just writing for a few minutes on my lunch hour every day. For me it's a little bit of beer money and an opportunity for some professional feedback to improve my technical writing. A half decent writer with no other time commitments should be able to bring in $300-400 a week no problem, with plenty of room to increase that by getting a good reputation and access to higher paying assignments. I know a few people suggested it to Benny a while back. It would be a good way for him to bring in some money and develop his writing skills.

Benny, Update the OP so that new people know not to ask you about Real Jobs/Goals/Americorps/Textbroker/Your Diploma/Health Insurance/Long term financial decisions/proof of your family members/anything else productive because you'll just ignore them. That'll save us all some time in the long run. Oh wait, that means you'd have to be productive about something...

So now this is just Benny's general chit-chat thread. It's obvious he reads every post. It's actually impressive how he can read through 800+ sentences and pick just the right one which is relatively off-topic and requires no effort. Like finding a needle in a hay stack. Benny puts more effort into avoiding other effort than he puts into the good effort. cname fucked around with this message at 15:40 on Jun 11, 2014 |
