echinopsis posted:operator is like 95% of the way there, it doesn't seem to really bite or scream like fm7 does but im poo poo with both of them Operator wins for me because there's just something about the interface I really get. i doesn't sound as nasty as the TX81z could do, but it's a lot more flexible and a million times easier to use. Analog is also great! when I'm not using "real" synths, the only softsynths I ever use are Analog and Operator.

I have a real "knack" for understanding user interfaces but I lack the simple musical taste aspect to make anything good, nor the patience the taste aspect will come with practice, I've found out. my earliest tracks are so loving cringeworthy I can't even listen to them without wanting to kill myself. when your tracks start sounding good (to you), the patience come automatically as it's really fun to make something good (suddenly you'll look at the clock finding out that 4 hours have passed). IMHO
