(Incredibly minor IM3 spoiler) Early in the movie when Tony Stark autographs a little girl's drawing, he asks her name. She answers Erin, so he adds a speech bubble to the picture of Iron Man reading "Help Me, Erin!" right before he has his first panic attack in the movie. Probably a coincidence, but it tickled me.

Pureauthor posted:That poll reminded me of a question I want to ask - Why exactly does Septette for the Dead Princess win the music polls so consistently? It's a nice song and all but I wouldn't even rate it in ZUN's top 5 of final boss music, let alone the entire series. There are other tracks that are better music, but they tend to be not nearly as flexible. There's only so many ways to arrange Evening Primrose.

DrSunshine posted:Question: Is Sakuya capable of time travel? If so, is it both backwards and forwards, or just one of the two? Or does she only produce temporal stasis? Is her stasis effect universal, or is it restricted to a localized temporal distortion? According to the wiki her PMISS profile says she has the ability to reverse time but is unable to violate causality, which would strongly limit what she could do with time-reversal. When used for "stasis" the effect appears to be global, because there's been no mention of temporal anomalies involving the SDM. If the effect were local, then spending a day in the SDM while Sakuya cleans might cause a week to pass outside. Alternatively the effect could be local to just Gensokyo, but that would mean Gensokyo has a separate timeline from the outside world, and there's evidence against that (the moon landings, Cirno's flower-dating in PoFV). When used to manipulate space, her ability can be used to enclose large volumes within small volumes ("it's bigger on the inside"). This is used mostly to hold large amounts of small objects (knives, cleaning equipment) on her person. TOO SCSI FOR MY CAT fucked around with this message at 16:58 on Jun 15, 2013 |

Clarste posted:Okay, this is a kind of a tangent and maybe you guys won't appreciate this but I feel like I have to ask. Does the character have enough lines that you could indicate archaic dialect through some other mechanism, such as vocabulary or grammar? That would probably make for a more natural translation. I'm not saying to go full-blown stark raving prithee, maybe try to emulate the style of books or historical texts written in the 1700s and 1800s.

My mind's being moderately blown right now, and I'd like some internet help to work through it. This is Nitori's sigil from The Grimoire of Marisa, published July 2009: And this an article about Darfur in the June 2007 newsletter of the San Francisco Psychological Association: closeup of the SFPA design: So is this some pre-existing design that ZUN re-used? I thought he'd come up with it, since I'd never seen any similar design before. What is it? Where does it come from? Why can't Google or TinEye find any non-Touhou references?
