That poll reminded me of a question I want to ask - Why exactly does Septette for the Dead Princess win the music polls so consistently? It's a nice song and all but I wouldn't even rate it in ZUN's top 5 of final boss music, let alone the entire series.
Septette is a sweet spot for arrangement. The melody is simple but not boring, has plenty of voices to play with different instruments or use as vocals, and there's like five distinct themes that can be shuffled around to liven things up. The character association helps too, when the arrangement is vocal, because "refined princess" works both when it's taken seriously or played for laughs.

There are other tracks that are better music, but they tend to be not nearly as flexible. There's only so many ways to arrange Evening Primrose.

Question: Is Sakuya capable of time travel? If so, is it both backwards and forwards, or just one of the two? Or does she only produce temporal stasis? Is her stasis effect universal, or is it restricted to a localized temporal distortion?
Her exhibited ability is to arbitrarily increase or decrease the relative flow of time for herself, other people, and objects. This is functionally equivalent to forward time travel, as she could go sit in a room and slow her own time while the outside world continues on. The ability appears to be more magical than scientific; for example, she can apply sixty years of time to a single plant so it would bloom, and the plant did not run out of water/sunlight and die. The spell effect of "dimming" the viewport may indicate that she receives less light when moving faster than standard time.

According to the wiki her PMISS profile says she has the ability to reverse time but is unable to violate causality, which would strongly limit what she could do with time-reversal.

When used for "stasis" the effect appears to be global, because there's been no mention of temporal anomalies involving the SDM. If the effect were local, then spending a day in the SDM while Sakuya cleans might cause a week to pass outside. Alternatively the effect could be local to just Gensokyo, but that would mean Gensokyo has a separate timeline from the outside world, and there's evidence against that (the moon landings, Cirno's flower-dating in PoFV).

When used to manipulate space, her ability can be used to enclose large volumes within small volumes ("it's bigger on the inside"). This is used mostly to hold large amounts of small objects (knives, cleaning equipment) on her person.

Okay, this is a kind of a tangent and maybe you guys won't appreciate this but I feel like I have to ask.

As some of you are aware I translate the official Touhou comics. I wouldn't say I'm a particularly great translator, but I try not to be completely terrible. Anyway, in a chapter I'm currently translating, (kinda but not really spoiler, sort of a dialect question that may reveal who shows up) there's a character who uses the honorific "dono". Which is basically an old fashioned way to address people that in the modern era makes people think of samurai dramas.

Sorry for the derail.
"Sir" and "Dame", to me, include connotations of royalty and upper-class; depending on who the character is and who they're addressing, this might be appropriate or not.

Does the character have enough lines that you could indicate archaic dialect through some other mechanism, such as vocabulary or grammar? That would probably make for a more natural translation. I'm not saying to go full-blown stark raving prithee, maybe try to emulate the style of books or historical texts written in the 1700s and 1800s.

So is this some pre-existing design that ZUN re-used? I thought he'd come up with it, since I'd never seen any similar design before. What is it? Where does it come from? Why can't Google or TinEye find any non-Touhou references?

Some of the GOM sigils are known to be derived from other sources (e.g. Flandre's sigil is a woodcut by Chariklia Zarris, Suwako's sigil is from a children's coloring book site), but others are unidentified and are believed to have been drawn for GoM by a non-ZUN artist. Until just now, I thought Nitori's was of the latter category.

Her characterization is from DS and SoPM; before those came out she was considered more of Aya's sidekick than a real character. The reveal in DS that she strongly dislikes Aya did a lot to jumpstart her popularity.

As for taking herself seriously, well, this is her SoPM portrait. You be the judge:
