Yea, that was actually pretty surprising and even a decent twist. I'm more interested though in the news that Fairy Tail is getting a spin off manga. I wonder who's writing it, who it'll be about and if it'll be as good a spin-off as Springtime of Youth.

So Fairy Tail Girls will be Erza and...Mira Jane I guess? Neither sounds particularly promising but I've no idea what kind of mangaka are working on them - anyone familiar with either?

Maybe I'm just blanking a bit on Wendy, but her personality in this seems a bit different to her normal one in the manga. A lot more of a scaredy cat than I recall her normally being for one.

I'd be okay with this if Gajeel starts using it to prank Natsu, and Gray and the rest of the guild get in on it too, adding in more and more ridiculous stipulations to see just how far they can take it before he gets fed up or finally figures it out. "Oh yea, and she has to eat it with chopsticks" "Sure, and her chair has to be facing east." "Oh...and I almost forgot, she needs to eat it while standing on her head. Remember, on her head, this is important".

I'm not say he can't be criticized for it - I'm saying that while it's silly, at least he's showing far more restraint than many an artist has when doing the same thing. And than he has with most of his characters. Hell, than he has with many of Erza's other outfits. Also that I don't actually care what she's wearing considering what she's doing.

I'm putting my money on Lucy, even though it'd make no sense for the Guild Master to be out trolling around on silly jobs with the rest of the guild just because the manga has been leaning hard on it since time timeskip what with everyone coming when she called and what not. If it's not one of the regular cast then it'll probably be Laxus just because he was mentioned wanting it before and Mashima isn't exactly great at setting things up properly.

Wait, yea, that's a good point. I suppose the new Guild master will be Gerard. Who it turns out in 50 chapters time is really just a disguised Zeref. Everything comes down to one of those two or Natsu at the E.N.D. of the day.

The one thing that does annoy me is that all Dragon-slayers now apparently get travel sick, not just Natsu. I know it's been the case with a while, but it just feels so lazy. Even for Mashima, who is at least usually good at making his characters quirky.

Newest issue is out, and it's running ahead full steam as to be expected. Still, it was nice to see Lucy getting a kind of cool outfit and being vaguely useful and competent. I'm hoping she gets a full fight using the Star Dresses at some point - they're a cool concept, even if fairly similar to exquiping.

There was possibly that woman who got super old as a result of using her magic or something. I don't know, that's literally all I remember. Even that isn't clear since some people (like me) thought it was implied she got old and died as a result of it while others thought she lived.

The good guys take the time to shove broom handles up some guy's rear end every time they have a party. I'm pretty sure that this is far from the first time a member of Fairy Tail has acted kind of skeevy towards women too, though I couldn't for the life of me name another instance.

He actually seems invested in it from the start, as opposed to Vegeta, who seemed to just be there for no real reason for a while with Bulma as far as I can recall it at least. I think Gray and Juvia make a nice couple too, especially now that they're fighting together. I really do wish Gray would take on some of Juvia's personality quirks like she's taken on his propensity to strip at weird times, since that'd make them a more balanced couple as it were. There's also Evergreen and...that big guy who talks about being manly all the time. Also Happy and fish, which is obviously the best ship in the manga.

Anyways, interesting to see that Erza is a mean drunk I suppose. Also that she fantasizes about Gajeel.

So I'm interested to see what ideas he comes up with for a few story and read the first year or so of it once it starts since Fairy Tail was pretty entertaining for the first while and sporadically so since then.

What's funny is that Mashima is setting this up as some epilogue stuff and then 5 chapters from now or whenever Lucy is next in trouble he'll magibabble some way for her to stumble on to Aquarius' new ring to save her and still have nothing for her to do in the epilogue.

It's not unexpected that Ultear came back, and young again at that but somehow it still manages to disappoint me despite the fact I should have known it'd happen. Oh well. The single panel of Erza and samurai gal cutting the two knights instantly was still fun.
