Tilda Swinton or nothing. :colbert:

Now that I think about it, isn't Swinton the frontrunner if there's to be a female Doctor?

Other than that, Elba would be a pretty decent shot too.

I like how someone in the Series 4 thread effectively called the plot of Day of the Doctor five years early. :allears:

I actually really enjoyed the premiere episode script, and 20 pages in I'm enjoying Into the Dalek as well. Though, I usually enjoy Moffat as show runner (I think the second half of series 7 was weak, but ended on a high note). So far they seem to be giving Clara an actual character, and in Danny Pink a love interest that, based on what very little I've read, sounds mildly interesting.

Super early impressions so far, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what I've read so far in live action.

I do like whimsy in my Doctor, though. So, you know, grain of salt and all if you don't.

I'm reading through "Listen" and I'm liking it so far. Especially the Where's Wally joke.

Saying that transition would make the Master's (Mistress's?) sexual orientation change is implying the Master was straight in the first place. :v:

The fact that the last two trans characters on Doctor Who were skin on a frame and a horse, and that Moffat can't write women to save his life, makes me hope that she isn't the Master.

Into the Dalek had Rusty suicide bombing the Dalek cruiser cut.
Robot of Sherwood had the beheading cut.

The latter explicitly due to ISIS, the former for unknown reasons.

I don't think ISIS, however cartoonishly evil they are, melt people's brains.

Apart from his entire stint as a corpse, in which he was hateful and (even more) murderous in a way he'd never been before and which, in the classic series, he immidiately stopped being once he became Ainley.

And when he WAS Ainley, he hung out alone, in a cave, maintaining a racist disguise complete with talking-to-himself, for no goddamn reason.

And then he became Eric Roberts with his obsession for The Asian Child.

People were making that joke when he was on Skins, at the very least. At least as Ollie Reeder he didn't look like Gideon.

Well it didn't take long for someone claiming to be "in the know" to pop up and share some details about next series.

There's no disputing that the series three finale was a three-parter, especially given the credits for "Utopia" followed the rules for mid-story endings (i.e., the trailer after the credits so that people could avoid it).
