Rupert Grint would probably make a pretty good Doctor in about 25 years.

PowerBuilder3 posted:

They should just follow the 1st Doctor at a younger age, growing up, early adventures, etc. Basically a 'reboot' without doing a 'reboot' since he can still travel to all of time anyway.

"Young First Doctor on Gallifrey" was a spin-off idea the BBC had a few years ago, and RTD basically told them it was a really stupid idea (which it was) and that maybe some sort of Sarah Jane Adventures would be better instead.

In a shocking twist that no one saw coming, the Daleks will be in the 50th Anniversary Special:

Nice to see 10's TARDIS again, I wonder if they just went to the Doctor Who Experience and filmed it there?

I'd assumed that because Rose was coming back, we would be getting Series 2 Tenth Doctor, but if they're including all the Queen Elizabeth stuff then it must be post-Waters of Mars Tenth Doctor. So where does Rose come into it?

Yeah, that trailer really got me pumped. With the mention of The Moment, it seems like we might be getting our first really good look at the Time War?

I have no idea if that's a good thing or a bad thing...

The Christmas Special is called "The Time of The Doctor":

quote:

Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars. And amongst them – the Doctor. Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.

DoctorWhat posted:

Where did the whole "Harriet Jones is a Dalek" thing come from, anyway?

Before The Stolen Earth/Journey's End aired there was post on another forum that claimed to have a 100% totally accurate leaked plot synopses for those episodes, which included a flashbacks which showed Harriet Jones hiding out on the Valiant during the events of Last of the Time Lords and then getting turned into the red dalek. It also said we'd see the Eighth Doctor and Grace Holloway seal up the Medusa Cascade.

It was wrong.

I went through the archives and found it here:

and the post where people start to talk about it (archives needed, obviously):

That was the original design for Nephew from The Doctor's Wife, until they ran out of money and had to use an Ood instead.

Looks like we'll be getting an episode get in the Medieval period?

EDIT: Apparently it's for Mark Gatiss' episode which might be about Robin Hood, with Da Vinci's Demons' Tom Riley as Robin Hood.

The thing about the Clockwork Robots is that their look and motives were so specific to Girl in the Fireplace, if they were to come back they could be literally anything. They don't necessarily have to be bad guys, even.
