Wow. Having not seen the original anime in quite a long time, I'm actually shocked at how poor the art looks now, compared to the manga and the new series.

Much as I'm not hugely interested in Ohno as a character, I thought it was kind of a shame that her particular dilemma seemed to rate so little screentime in ep12. I know there's a lot to be said for lightness of touch, but I keep feeling the Nidaime anime lacks any dramatic punch - for the most part, any issues the characters encounter seem to be resolved without much trouble.

Madarame's storyline fares better than most in that regard (him being unemployed again was pretty :smith:), but I'd have liked to see Hato plumb the depths a bit more in particular, given the amount of screentime given over to him/her.

Sue's combo aside, I think I would have preferred if they'd ended it with ep11. These last two episodes felt unnecessary to me.
