Necroneocon posted:I agree. It's also weird to see people here (and the other forums) sticking up for businesses/corporations instead of other people and customers like themselves. People on those forums are upset and annoyed and are just letting out their frustration. It's just really awkward to see that much hate and bile being slung around for a key being a few hours late.

thehumandignity posted:GMG's site gives a release date of the 12th, so mystery solved, I guess. Time to play the "pirating software I paid for" game. jtm33 posted:What's the bet that they don't get keys until the 12th. The page on GMG says the release date is the 12th for some reason. Well, they're a British company, and unless you're in the US, the game doesn't release until the 12th, so its no surprise they don't have keys yet. Necroneocon posted:It's not a logic leap and I don't really care when I get my key personally as i'm doing work, but you took a huge leap yourself when you made that post. All i'm saying is people make fun of annoyed customers all the time but never the businesses or corporations, nor do they blame them. In a normal world people would be saying GMG, Amazon and Gamersgate are pretty lame for not sending the keys on time but no one is saying that. It's just "lol look at these posts on these forums." Oh I'm not disputing that if they're legit late delivering keys, that's pretty lame. But screaming and hollering and "I'LL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN" "I'M GONNA HAVE MY BANK DO A CHARGEBACK BECAUSE I'VE BEEN ROBBED!" seems a bit disproportionate; at least until they've tried more reasonable channels of resolution like contacting GMG support, perhaps 2K support, etc. jivjov fucked around with this message at 06:32 on Jul 9, 2013 |

Necroneocon posted:The bank chargeback is a bit too much, so is talking about being robbed or all that other melodramatic stuff, but "i'll never shop here again" is pretty legitimate. It's their money after all. Oh yeah, I myself have stopped shopping at various places due to poor treatment, but there's a world of difference between "well, I've been burned, so I'm not coming back" and the frothing rage on the GMG forums. Underwhelmed posted:The worth of a Person's time is almost universally inversely proportionate to the frequency at which they remind you how important it is. Oh my god, this is amazing and I love you.

I just feel bad that I wasted my BNW-Playing-Time watching Kyoryuger and helping my housemate find some poo poo in Banjo Tooie. I have to get up in 4 and a half hours and I'm actually considering starting up Civ V.

The point at which I realized that midnight releases were rather pointless was the time I drove an hour to my hometown Gamestop to pick up Halo 4 and by the time I got it back to my college dorm I barely wanted to play longer than 10 minutes before hitting the sack.

brocretin posted:My apologies for spamming up the thread with this stuff, there's just some funny poo poo going round on the Steam community hub. Wow, so they fired up the "you only get one city until you bankroll more" civ and are somehow surprised that they don't get settlers? Man, some people really shouldn't be allowed to play games until they pass a literacy test and make a sworn statement that they actually look at information that is provided to them.

Okay, I am dumb and can't figure out how to establish a trade route. I've got 1 available, I've got a DoF up with Theodora, but I can't build a caravan because "I don't have any trade routes". I thought building those was how you got trade routes?

The AI is better than at launch. Still exploitable and makes the occasional boneheaded move, but it's not completely broken any more.

Alkydere posted:Also, if they were struggling for great writers, I'm sure they could imagine tossing in some stuff like movies or plays. I'd love to get George Lucas to produce "Star Wars" as a play for the Mayans in the classical era. Man, I just hit 1977 in my Shoshone game and had this exact thought "Sure with George Lucas was a Great Writer"
