New title screen music is great.

Yeah me too. Installing DirectX 9 seems to be about 95% of the steps though
You'll have to restart Steam once or twice as well. There's still some files it's going to need to download.

I'm having trouble enabling the content. I got the new intro but the menu itself is G&K. When I try enabling it from the DLC menu it disables itself again.

Restart steam.

Unsurprisingly they closed off the instant selling of luxuries and embassies to the AI for easy gold in the early game. They all now require declaration of friendship for lump sum trades. You can do gold per turn without them but everyone makes zero money at the start so that's non-ideal. Kind of a interesting way of addressing that AI loop hole in the early game.

Terracota Army: Creates a duplicate of every military land type unit you have and places them next to the city you built the wonder.

Yep.

Seriously? That's amazing.
Yeah it's pretty stupid, I just made 8 archers in 10 turns thanks to Terracotta.

Of course I have like -9 GPT now. :V

But then I made a +10 GPT (or it's pseudo GPT) trade route so that's that! Sea routes seem much more profitable than land based caravans at the start. Maybe roads fixes that.

Typically trade routes last for 30 turns before you need to renew them, but as far as I've seen you can cancel them at any time.
Don't think you can cancel.

Does connecting your cities to the capital still give gold?
Yes, they're called city connections.

It does have Death Robots and The Great Firewall.

Does anyone have good experience with ideologies on deity? I feel like I can never have control over my ideology choices and I just have to go with the pack since it comes right in the middle of the period where you're sling shotting passed the AIs. I'm not quite ready to deal with a -10 or -20 happiness modifier and I've never been culturally prepared to defend against it and I am not sure you even can be on deity.

Anyone have any tips on how to properly invade the Iroquois when they're in a super thick forest that's lousy with mohawks? I'm struggling to get line of sight with my archers and a promoted mohawk in a forest is a match for even longswords, then they just run circles around me.
Lousy terrain wars pre-artillery pretty much requires the use of mounted units and roads.

Whats everyone's opinion of settling cities on top of resources?
If it's a plantation resource and you want to do it, then do it. Plantations are awful. +1 g for luxes and well, and only +1 food for bananas (assuming granary, and you will lose the hammer too! gently caress bananas)

Anything that produces extra hammers or food though, don't do it. Wheat, horses, silver, etc.

Not bad about sums that up, yeah. You can go much higher. This is pretty much the journey that every deity level player travels: breaking wonder build habits, and eventually embracing early game growth. People used to poo poo a brick when they'd watch MaddJinn's LP videos and he'd build a farm on top of a hill next to a river but well...

[e]Man that looks like such a crappy start, surprised you didn't reroll. Err wait 3 wheat fields nevermind.

I used to do that too and but then I'd just end up quitting at turn 100 instead of turn 1.

Hmm, I almost never build national epic unless I plan to war. The AI is so easy to pay off to go to war with other people.

Are you thinking of the Heroic Epic? National Epic gives you +25% Great Person points. GPs are really important and it's key to get that national wonder in the same city you'll have all of your specialists in (your capital 9 times out of 10).
Oh yeah, whoops, my bad. National epic is the all monument one. Yeah I definitely always build that one.

I like a 3rd jungle city or so but a jungle capital is pretty rough. I hate when the game gives me jungle starts.

As many AI improvements as they made with navy, they still fold completely to submarines. It's rare that I end any continent game without a ring of submarines around my country if it's coastal. You know, just in case.

Remember vanilla Civ? Alexander was so stupidly overpowered. If you didn't take him out early on (but not too early on, because their classical units were pretty buff), he was guaranteed a diplomatic victory.
That's really not different from BNW Civ? Alexander is still really good and a huge pain in the rear end if he's not taken out early.
