We're in San Diego now! Up next...we made a pact to finish the documentary final edit by the end of the summer. Then we want to do a little US road trip roving around, doing presentations and selling DVDs. Seems a fun way to see the country. :) The roving machine is a project all his own however, so realistically we may not be on the road for a while...it will however, be loving awesome. :D

I'll give you beer and make you pizzas and let you pet my dog if you come through Fort Collins. Probably lodging too, but I'd have to ask the lady.

I have received a care package from Becky according to the house I used to live at. Strangely they went through the package and pulled everything out before calling me and telling me it was there. When i get it, I'll see if I can post up the contents.

When the USofA tour kicks off, if you need a space to stay near Dallas, let me know. I'm a boring suburbanite, but I have tools and lots of extra space if nedeed.

I like your mural, wish I had that in my house.
Your work looks kind of like Jeremy Fish's stuff.

Does Andrea have a blog or anything that chronicles your adventures from her perspective?

It's really cool that you take the time to update our little corner of the Internet. You've gotten so big on ADVRider and Facebook that I would expect you to lose your interest in such a small audience.

Also there are some sort of creepy comments in the ADVRider thread over its lifetime.

No, tootling the horn trumpet melodiously is reserved for the pedestrian who hooves into sight without consideration, vigorous tootling if he does not move.

The video blog is from both of our perspectives. She's actually done the lion's share of the editing since I taught her way back in Guatemala. :)

Neither of us have done much writing on a public forum. I have started a book, we'll see when I finish it. I feel like you always hear about a movie taking 6 years to finish or someone taking 4 years to write a book and you're like WTF I cranked out a 20 page essay for college in one night! How does it take so long?! Then you try to do it yourself and you're like OH I GET IT, it's like giving birth, you have to gestate on the experiences before you can really share them in a way that does justice.

Creepy comments? Apparently not enough to get under my skin. I mean, welcome to being female on the internet. Creepers gonna creep.

As for this being a small venue, I dunno, I haven't thought much of it, I feel like I've been posting here since I had a scooter? It's just what I do. :P

Right?! Whenever I read any of the signs all I could think was "A bunch of teenage boys made up all of these as excuses for why they didn't come home...and they have very gullible mothers" :P

We ended up using mine. . .not that it really worked in any real stove sense. We were just burning a tuna can full of alcohol and gasoline and it indeed cooks things. It's pretty dirty and gross though, I don't recommend it. Luckily our camp stove revived shortly after. I think the o-rings had just gotten dry in Bolivia, but being in a less dry place revived them.

New episode! Really fun one for us, lots of good memories. . .like taking a brand new dirt rider down the Carretera Austral and stumbling upon a festival where a whole village floats a house across a lake and drags it through the city drinking wine, because party. :D

Thanks for the latest installment. Fixing bikes stoned/drunk is fun for everyone except the one sober guy going, "Nono no, that part goes on the other side, and that's the third time you've taken the clutch basket cover off and the first time you haven't spilled any oil, cuz it all ran out of the bike he first two times."

Hahahahaha! Yeah...we generally fix things sober(ish) the first few times we do that particular repair. But once you've cleaned a carburetor hundreds of times, it's all the same thing. Same with oil changes, and really anything fairly routine. We've amassed quite a bit of mechanical experience over the years, so we get to be a little intoxicated now and are just as successful ;)
