A company we do business with has their spam filter setup to allow any message through the filter that has 'XYZ Corp is great" in the body.

So all of their emails have that embedded in them with no font color so it's "invisible"

Thats so dumb... I mean it's hilarious but dumb.

Maybe it already exists, but I feel like there should be some sort of compliance program, similar to what they do for money laundering, for IT professionals and how that kind of stuff should be handled.

You don't want people accidentally committing crimes by deleting it, and the FBI really needs that evidence to identify victims and other involved criminals.

Usually the FBI snags that poo poo during the initial investigation. At my old web hosting company each of us Sysadmins were given a "Project Box" that we could do whatever on provided we didn't destroy our bandwidth, this was of course to avoid us "Stealing" resources.

My project box was a ventrillo server, one other guys was a counterstrike server, and the third was a BF2 server, we all shared these and had fun with them.

Our dedicated windows guy setup an IRC server and file share repository for kiddie porn. The FBI took that box and his workstation. The company took away our game servers. gently caress you Ed.

Your CBS logs are likely hosed up and not truncating properly. Check C:\Windows\Logs\CBS and you'll probably see enormous CBSPersist_Date.cab files that you can clear.

Has to do with TrustedInstaller not being able to handle trunking the logs when they exceed a certain size. Been a bug for years.

Yep.

I'll bet you $1 that this guy is the CIO of something.

What? You can't put your entire infrastructure backup on a single USB WD drive you picked up at staples? Hand in your CIO keys buddy, let a pro take over.

We'll also conveniently ignore that cryptolocker would have just zotted everything on that drive as well.

Weren't you paying attention, it SHOULD be $0.001 per gig! Those hard drives are just sitting there at best buy WAITING to be purchased!

"Raid? What's that we're not cleaning roaches here pal, buy the green drives, they are the most bang for your buck."

But really what all you people need is a Scott Alan Miller Storage Device.

I don't like the folder redirect for documents to go to a network drive. I've had a lot of lost data when the sync breaks and users do not notice and their machine needs to be re-imaged or HD crash. A disaster backup of some of the shell locations to a network location is pretty nice though.

This should only be a problem for laptop users

I am still steadfastedly refusing to believe that this derail about a paperclip clicking game is anything but a "It's Margarita Time" style bullshit session.

EDIT: Okay, well, I just looked it up and I guess it's not. Jesus.
