also when people bring up WTC 7 and "it wasn't hit by a plane, it was just on fire" the thing they're leaving out is that WTC 7 was hit by big chunks of WTC 1 and 2, which is why it was on fire

for some reason people never bring that up, i wonder why

the camera angles that people could see on the tv broadcasts that day were only able to see the face of the building that had been facing away from the towers when they collapsed, and not the face of the building that was very heavily damaged. so when they see pictures of wtc7 they think "oh that building wasn't very damaged, it must have been a controlled demolition."

What I don't get is why do they always go for broke by calling it a controlled demolition? How come conspiracy theorists don't say that Bush paid the hijackers, or that he deliberately ignored warnings that the hijackings were going to happen?

* low-speed, low-fuel impacts

As in, a 707 lost on approach to JFK or LaGuardia that's already burned off most of its fuel en route to New York and is lost in the fog.

The crashes that happened in the September 11th attacks were 767's with a full fuel load due to being configured for a cross country flight out of Boston. Which meant that there was way more fuel was in the planes when they hit than the buildings were designed for.

Not only that, but the hijackers gunned the engines so that the planes would hit the towers at high speed, far faster than the WTC was designed to withstand.

The Bush administration had a perfectly good casus belli in the whole WMD thing, if they wanted to invade Iraq, they really didn't need 9/11 to happen.

Bush and co. were so eager to go after Iraq for something that it got to the point where you had Ahmed Chalabi fabricating intelligence that the Bush Administration wanted to hear, leaking it to Judith Miller at the New York Times, then having people like Cheney go on the Sunday morning shows and saying we have our own sources that Iraq totally has WMDs, even the New York Times is confirming it.

If anything, 9/11 was a distraction for the Bush Administration.

The real Illuminati was short-lived and was formed in Bavaria in 1776 to oppose superstitions, the practice of deliberately keeping important information from the public eye, and to promote the separation of church and state.

It eventually collapsed due to internal power struggles and barely lasted a decade.

Reminder that conspiracy theories are mocked because they draw a crowd of devote followers on the basis of flimsy non-evidence and/or a basic misunderstanding of physics and/or confirmation bias. Provable conspiracy theories become something other than conspiracy theories

Yep. There's a world of difference between "Bush did 9/11" and "Nixon sabotaged the Paris peace talks to win the '68 election."

Nobody ever says that the Parthenon, Roman Colosseum, or Cathedral of Notre Dame were built by aliens unless they're being snarky.

So what the hell is Agenda 21 any how did this become a thing with conspiracy theorists?

As far as I can tell, it's just a non-binding statement that means "hey wait a minute, having most of your population in a Robert Moses hellscape causes a bunch of social, economic, and environmental problems, maybe we shouldn't do that?"

somehow that's turned into "POPULATION CONTROL!!!!! :byodood:"

self-driving cabs are really only good for first/last mile in areas without a good transportation network in place.

which probably describes most suburbs come to think of it.

New Urbanism, Transit-Oriented Development, and the focus on walkability is a conspiracy to do what exactly? Reduce people's cost of living by giving them reasonable alternatives to automobile ownership?

Flat-Earthers are what I compare holocaust deniers to, to give them an idea of how retarded they sound (not that there's any getting through the layers of delusion), incidentally the Nazis had all sorts of batshit crazy ideas about cosmology to the point that they diverted men and radar equipment from the war effort to try and prove the Hollow Earth hypothesis.

The Theory of Relativity was considered "jewish science" and so it was rejected by the Nazis. According to officially approved Nazi science, everything in outer space was made out of ice and the Sun's gravity abruptly stopped at 3x the orbit of Neptune.

Looking at the size of that rocket, there’s no way he’s gonna get enough altitude to really see the curvature of the earth.

Assuming he doesn’t blow himself up (and that’s a big assumption) I bet he comes back and says “I was right, the earth is flat!”

Serious question, how do flat earthers explain great circle navigation? Does NASA just pay off everybody who takes a basic celestial navigation class? Wouldn't that be logistically impossible?

Well, the Nazis thought the Earth was hollow and that everything in outer space was made out of ice. Anything that contradicted this, like observable facts, the theory of relativity, was considered "Jewish science" and the people saying it had their money and possessions seized and they were imprisoned.

Also, Nazi uniforms were designed to look good on the runway and in parades but were hilariously impractical in the field.

The Protocols were straight up copied from two books, which I think are a Dialog in Hell and something called Berrlitz I think. Both are bog standard jews are in league with the devil and seek to destroy Christian nations. Almost all modern conspiracies spawn from it, or Morning of the Magicians, which was from some guy who thought HP Lovecraft was writing true stories, not products of his racist fears of the nebulous unknown. Even if people are unaware of the Anti-Semetic origins of conspiracies, they will still use the same ideas. The whole Rothschild and Bilderberg conspiracies are great examples of it. You get people who would never think of Jews being the secret masters of the world, just these groups of bankers and other money men get together and rule the world secretly.

Also, you know where the idea Jews are greedy and control all the money? Because Jews were banned from most work in Europe and Christians couldn't charge interest on loans, so Jews became moneylenders and eventually bankers. So the whole thing comes from Christians persecuting Jews. Like loving hell.

Wasn’t Protocols written as pro-tsarist propaganda to scapegoat the 1905 Russian revolution on Jewish people and justify the pogroms?
