The best case scenario is that domestic leagues realise the massive arseache this will cause and refuse to release players. Unfortunately at that point the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga all go "Hang on, whilst we're seceding from FIFA, we may as well get that European superleague going, n'est pas?" and then top flight football really is dead forever.

vaginal culture posted:The only thing that would help any would a massive campaign shaming and boycotting FIFAs "brand partners" to the point where it began to cost them money. The world cup is a big lovely corporate jerkoff fest like the Olympics and its bad in my opinion. This is fair but there are so many of the fuckers that unless you carry around a comedy scroll with all the names on you're going to end up buying one of their products eventually.

Considered as a whole, Yorkshire has a better claim than Qatar, and if granted independence from the UK would avoid the unfashionability of the UK in world politics. Consider the huge international leverage of cricket in south Asia, and the internationally popular exports of beer and Finchy from the Office. Why the gently caress are UEFA dragging their heels, they could already have The Real World Cup up and running with sponsorship deals in place by 9am tomorrow. A bunch of European teams plus special guests the USA and Australia, kicking off on 14 June 2018, games to be shared internationally between the Disney resorts.

Maybe Brazil, Argentina or someone with even one good player instead? Australia were just as pissed off about Qatar because they were in for that, they just have fewer muckraking journalists than England and the USA so have been quietly cheerleading and deserve a place for that. Brazil just hosted a World Cup and their FA probably have some reservations about what's going to come up, and we can't have Messi winning a World Cup.

Surely they would've carried on getting away with this if they were less blatant than giving it to literally Russia and Qatar in consecutive tournaments? Everyone knew they were dodgy but that was just a ludicrous red flag. Also no surprise that it was a Yank who ended up squealing after all this time, lack of national character imo
