Herschel really was the best non-Daryl character on the show, hands down. Well, Carol, maybe, but as someone said earlier, it's amazing how well Herschel went from "holy poo poo, get bitten and die you racist gently caress" to "zombie apocalypse's #1 dad".

They really need to just stop killing off all the best characters. Herschel, Oscar, Milton, and Merle all got killed just when they were getting interesting. I really wish they'd find some way to get Kirkman off the show completely as apparently he is the main reason Rick is still a major focus when he's just absolutely horrible at this point. At this rate I'm expecting Daryl to get offed in this season's finale because it seems like the kind of stupid OH poo poo thing they'd do. At least Carol is still presumably alive. She's groovy.

I just know they'll never explain how Michonne somehow went from a suburban upper-middle-class art enthusiast to an expert in katana use, and that bothers me just a little bit. I liked it better when her backstory was a mystery.

I know everyone says Norman Reedus looks much younger than he is, which is true, but considering Merle's apparent age (50-ish) I've always assumed Daryl is around 40-ish.

Considering how popular this show is, what are the actual odds of it even ending in the next, say, five or ten years? We could be sitting around in 20 years talking about how Carl totally shouldn't have survived the boat trip to England and lamenting the death of 15-Dogg at the hands of Carol's zombie daughter. And I really can't even think of any way the show could actually end in a satisfying way. "It turns out there are a ton of humans alive in a walled off city"? "Everybody dies"?

I'd be happy with an ending like some Russians show up in a helicopter and say something like "Holy poo poo, what happened here?" and then going back home. I mean did the guy in season 1 definitively say that this was going on everywhere, wasn't it just something like "Paris went dark"? It'd be kind of hilarious if it was just happening in America and the rest of the world was leaving it the gently caress alone. Though I guess that's basically the ending to 28 Days Later.

The tone of the series so far has been "Survive, against all odds, stubbornly". I don't see it ending in a Road-esque way. Plus, the world of The Road was far more hosed than the world of TWD.
