Oh, hey, Moshie Koshie slash Moisie Kaiser is on in a few days! That should be fun. What sucks is that this launched right when Pete Holmes' new show was starting and Anthony Jeselnik's on winter tour between Jeselnik Offensive runs so those two would be hard to wrangle onto the show.

The best part of last night's episode was David Spade's legitimate 'ha ha' reaction to the National Treasure joke. That poor man, I loved him so as a youth. SNL, Tommy Boy, I even went to see Black Sheep (holy poo poo at that one) opening day with my best friend. Now he's simply one of the many people Adam Sandler gives money to.

And Neal Brennan is the absolute best of those three.

That... is actually really amazing and loving owns. Talk about 'getting' what parts make the show The Show. Mike Lawrence (I think he was on the show, he's The Ginger-Beard Man) has a great bit on his CC half-hour where he's talking negatively about Ke$ha, (I'll just repeat the entire bit because I had to look it up just now: "Las Vegas is Ke$ha, because they're both covered in glitter and cum) the audience groans in disapproval, and he goes "OH NO, NOT KEH DOLLAR SIGN HA! SHE'S SO INNOCENT!"

Man, I can't wait for tonight. I loves me some stand-up comedy, even/especially the kind of stuff @midnight showcases: Silly crap that MAINLY makes Chris Hardwick and his personal friends from the stand-up scene laugh.

Haven't watched the episode yet, but god drat does Chris Hardwick just really not look anything near 40. He hardly seems out of place dating 25-year-old Chloe Dykstra.

Rory Scovel is my favorite off-the-cuff comedian right now, so he should be PERFECT. If you want to laugh so hard you cry, these two segments from The Pete Holmes Show interview with him are GOLD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IC4vXzDShoQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3JN5u7KH08

Hoodrat King was the loving best part of the episode, and I think it went over everyone's heads. A rat king is when a ton of rats end up with their tails entwined and stuck together (mainly with feces), causing them to be a huge collective that usually can't move and end up dying together. Hence the "I'll bring 20 of my friends and we'll make a hoodrat king!" joke being hysterical.

The thing about Chris having 400 loving Nerdist podcast episodes and a buncha Nerdist TV episodes behind him is that he knows a goddamn huge amount of nerdy celebrities and can call them up for a guest spot on this, with a great chance that they're the right type of "funny" to make it work well. gently caress yeah, @midnight.

You know he actually hasn't has HIS GIRLFRIEND on even the podcast very much? Outside of the intro, she barely appears at all, solely on a recent hostful one and then the two at Valve with Gabe Newell. It's really not like he's forcing Chloe Dykstra on anybody. That said, his past girlfriends have been comedians, one already being on the show. And, from what I know, Janet Varney would do this show because she and Chris are on good terms.

I don't know anything about Hardwick outside of this show but you guys are really making him sound goony as hell.

He's a nerdy guy who is a pure workaholic, ex-alcoholic to boot, with a girlfriend in her mid-late 20s who's also a minor internet celebrity and (ex-?)Goon whose father basically made everything cool that was ever in a sci-fi film.

I believe the ED article I read about her mentioned she thought about doing porn, or did a porn or something. It doesn't actually matter any, because who gives a gently caress, but that kinda makes nudes on the internet less a devastating thing than it would to someone who's dealing with only the internet nudes. (by the way, I'm basically in love with her and don't mean to say any of this in a negative manner; she seems to just be a fun, cute girl and I would kill to be either dating Chris Hardwick or dating Chloe Dykstra)

They think Hardwick is too handsome and young-looking to be a nerd, to boot, in spite of actual cred. The Nerdist Podcast is pretty awesome if for no other reason than the guests that you would never imagine they could get on a podcast-- Tom Hanks, Mel Brooks, Christopher Lloyd, Harrison Ford, poo poo like that. Also, that burn on Jeselnik Offensive by Nick Thune won me over immediately for him, I've gotta check out the rest of his stand-up and the like, haha. The last two episodes have been absolutely fantastic. I don't go out of my way to listen to Doug Benson or his podcasts, but he and this show are loving terrific together!

Mandroid's album had a ton of unaired stuff that was his earlier material. I didn't like the (aired) special that much, either, but I still think he's one of my favorite comedians. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VzQbBhF714 Try to not laugh at this stuff, especially the 9/11 of corn.

There is not a single person in the entire loving world whose problem with Chris Hardwick is that he's a "fake nerd" because he's attractive, and I really wish you'd stop making this poo poo up every time the topic resurfaces. there's an interesting parallel with the ongoing question of "fake gamer girls" but that's not really germane to this thread

I've seen more people actually say that Chris Hardwick isn't a real nerd than times I've said it.

I absolutely adore Run Funches. His responses regarding the OKCupid jellybean "stroak"er weirdo owned so hard. Frantic giggling and "If I can just get a matching one of those shirts, we're on board!"

edit: I love the way Chris was like 'we get tomorrow off!' but he delivered it in a way that was effectively ':dxhr: I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS :dxhr:' He's said on the Nerdist podcast recently how much of his loving dream job this show is. As a dumb aside, Chris is trying to get CC to publish the unedited episodes because of how great some of them are. He said that the PFT and Mike Lawrence and Jen Kirkman episode was just pure gold for an entire hour as one of the best examples. Here's hopin'!
