And 20 was always the point where I left the Dunes behind for Qufim parties. Subjob was at 18, hope you didn't run to Jeuno before doing it (which was extra fun when skeletons' Black Butt would one-shot everyone but the tank). Chocobo license was at 20 and made you sit around for like ... four hours. I think if you missed a day the quest reset? Qufim Island worms were suuuper sketchy at even level 19. An 18 no-subjob was gonna sit at the mouth of that cave for a few hours at least until some party being PL'ed by a level 42 white mage eventually picks them up out of pity. Probably doesn't seem like much early on, but Shantotto II is nutballs if you play something doing dark oriented skill chains. She'll double dark and then magic burst off it and other nonsense.

This wasn't a joke. It took about this long to get my DRK choochin' the way it used to, even with mote's include handling most of the tricky bits. Still only have Scythe going and need to futz with GS set to get my 5-hit back. I miss my lockstyle script already. It would equip my swag fashion and then lockstyle automatically.

I'm sure the old adage that Maat's Cap owners are terrible at all of their jobs goes double on private servers. That exactly the "all grind no skill" that these throwback servers attract because that's all 75 era ever was, and they were all convinced of crafting astrology to boot. Want there a dev post that slapped it down entirely?
