I bet they were actually going to do a full playthrough and Woolie's hard drive crash wiped most of the videos.
Pat mentioned on NeoGAF that everything is on an external HDD so they haven't lost any videos they already completed. Triple Triad is just that hype.

I doubt they subjected themselves to all of FF8 for a 45 minute joke video. I imagine they had a bunch of save files at various points of the game.
Didn't they have 128 of every card except the unique ones? They probably used the Debug Room or some other Gameshark chicanery.

Also, new podcast is up!

Pat loves crack in much the same way that Woolie kills animals - it's all a series of horrible McDonalds-spawned misunderstandings.

(Also I think Pat's mentioned in the past that he doesn't do the cons because crowds freak him out, so he's probably just an anxious bundle of ginger nerves.)

I haven't a clue what they could implement as a subscription thing that wouldn't either take away content from everyone else or exhaust the guys from the extra workload. Wallpapers from their art pals? Ad-free HD downloads of videos? A 12-month calendar of Zach wearing silly hats?

If Matt spouting off about testing a 2009 PSP game in the newest Superfriends video is any indication, we'll get tales from the QA pit (and mockery of time spent therin) for a while yet.

If the mic's not getting blown out, it's fine. It's nice to have some genuine excitement where a lot of online game video stuff is cynical and pessimistic.

I just discovered these guys recently and have been going through their videos- any recommendations for the longer series videos on some favorites to start? I actually just finished watching the Indigo Prophecy series they did because I had that game and played about 15 minutes of it, I was curious how the rest of the game was.
I liked the Yakuza 4 run because it's a series I will never be able to play in a million years but now kind of want to. If you liked the Indigo Prophecy run you can't go wrong with the rest of David Cage's Cavalcade Of Garbage. And of course the theme months (Rustlemania, Superfriends, maybe both Shitstorms) are pretty good.

Well, KOF 12/13's sprites started life as 3D models in the first place (admittedly with months of pixel-art re-touching after the fact) so it wouldn't be completely from scratch, especially if, again, they imitated all the crazy poo poo Guilty Gear's doing.

I can't remember what.
Ahh, it's all good. I'm enjoying Prison Break and going back to stuff I either missed or never finished watching like Resident Evil 4. How come so many games ripped off that cool over-the-shoulder camera angle without aklso ripping off the concept of semi-automatic shotguns with 100-round drum magazines?! Consider my hand raised.

RGB Classic Games is a great site for old shareware game downloads, as well as the occasional full version that's been legally freed by the original authors. And of course there's GOG for a lot of the Apogee stuff!

I'm kind of surprised by how little of Epic's pre-Unreal stuff is still legally attainable at this point! They have some great old games like Epic Pinball and Jazz Jackrabbit, but up until recently the only way to buy them online was as the original physical media (floppy disks!!) via mail order from Tim Sweeney's dad.
