That's a problem they had in BG1 EE too. Scripts LOVE to override your actual commands and a party of 6 turns into herding cats (with bad AI).

quote:Is there anything stopping you from, as a Monk, recruiting Rasaad in BG2 and doing his quest and then immediately stripping him of all his sweet gear and kicking him to the curb? Other than the alignment restrictions on his boots, nope. Go for it. quote:How soon before Monk gets awesome? They... take quite a bit, even in BG2. I'd say around level 13, because that gets you the amazing Quivering Palm. quote:With bg2EE just released I've aborted a small party f/m/t run. Now I want to run all the new character so what would work ok with that kind of party? Cleric/Ranger is amazing from beginning to end. Dual-classed Fighter/Druid might also be good if you're sick of using Jaheira.

Fighter/Druid misses out on most spells that turn clerics into melee juggernauts like Draw Upon Holy Might. Cleric/Ranger gets the best of pretty much three classes for the price of two.

I always wondered: Does standing in shadows increase your chance to hide? I was never quite certain if the Infinity engine can even discern between light/dark areas.

Snicker-Snack posted:Yes. You can tell if it's real shadows when your character gets darker. So standing in the shadows of some trees gives you a bonus, mind blown

Quick question: I want to multiclass a Berserker/Druid through the entire series, starting in BG. When would be a good level to switch over from Berserker? I've seen people say 7 but I'm not entirely sure why. Grandmastery is at 9, right? Is it worth giving that up?

General Emergency posted:Do you mean dual class? Multiclasses gain levels in both classes they have and you can't have a specialist kit in a multiclass. Levels 7-9 are kind of the "sweet spot" for dualing a Berserker. At level 7 you get half an attack a round, at 8 you get an extra daily use of berserk, and at 9 you get the grand mastery pip. It's just a matter of how long you want to wait before getting your fighter levels back. I think level 9 is the best spot to dual, but that's just me. It's not that much more experience and you still get your levels back pretty fast. Uh, yea, the thing that only humans can do. I usually don't bother with dual/multiclassing and just go play purestrain sorcerors so I'm not good at this kind of stuff. Thanks for the advice though. e: quote:Remember that you need to be a true neutral human with 15 strength, 17 wisdom and 17 charisma when you dual, so plan your starting stats & tome usage accordingly. Also don't spend pips in non-druid weapons as a berserker because you won't be able to use those anymore when you dual. Yep, I took those into account and went with Scimitars et al. You have no idea how long I rerolled my stats... or how often I accidentally missed 91+ rolls.

I always assumed it was Melissan.

Zilkin posted:She doesn't show up till ToB though. I've always thought it is Ellesime and Irenicus(from when he was still a proper elf). That's more plausible actually yea. I just saw the feathery headgear and connected it with Melissan but Ellesime also has a weird feather-hat.

fong posted:No, the NPCs in BG1 and BG2 are essentially separate entities. Aww drat I gave the +1 Int tome to Imoen hoping that it would carry over to BG2.

Pretty sure it's 17/17 Wisdom/Charisma for Fighter -> Druid.

Factor_VIII posted:If you want multiple characters to gain access to level 9 spells, you could go with a 5-member party. Or 4 people on a slightly higher difficulty. I remember reaching 9th level spells by the time I got to the Orc fortress. I... didn't feel like playing anymore after that.

fong posted:That's the main difference and its a pretty big one. A character coming in from BG1 will probably have 19 in their primary stats which is big particularly for the fighter classes. Or 20 Con as a dwarf, so you'll be regenerating.

^^ Unless I recall incorrectly, shapeshifters basically don't need any stats except wisdom since all your physical stats get replaced by the werewolf form anyway. Same with weapon proficiencies. I think you can even cast while in were-form so you're basically the destroyer of worlds. Dirty_Moses posted:I'm going to go ahead and pick up BG2EE tonight. I kind of want to play a half-orc, but I've played similar games (NWN2, Torment) and have always been bored by fighters. I suppose you could make a half-orc swashbuckler to take advantage of the Str/Con you get. I wanted to recommend Blackguard but then I realized they already made Dorn for that and he has an illegal race/class combination to begin with.
