It has an archipelago setting, and there's also an option to go into the config and mess around with the settings yourself.

Edit: it also makes kinda nicer/more interesting maps for raids and events.

that's a pretty good mod (I've used it before too) and tbh I should be using that instead of the "Biomes!: Islands" mod because it comes with kind of a lot of baggage I wasn't really looking for

there has to be live plants, and while there are some that will survive when covered with snow, there won't be any new growth until the warm season (there's a little fuzziness here but that's the gist)
not on any kind of scale, you really have to store some food for them ahead of time, like the real world.

that's actually a great option on ice sheet, that's the only kind of growing you're likely to do. one of the few modern concessions to trying to do a tribal start on ice sheet or very cold tundra is nutrifungus walled up with a geothermal vent.

Okay this is a Very Good Gimmick :kiss:



I'd never tried the Holy Diseases gimmick before because it looked like Hard Mode but it's actually not a big deal, it's very colorful and reasonable (the custom race with the extra immunity effect is very overkill, the meme includes a +50% immunity gain feature anyway)

Lots of social fights (LOTS of social fights lol), lots of baby ratlings zipping around doing things :allears:

*genes from Big and Small/Alpha Genes, ideo stuff from Alpha Genes/a one-off Survivalist meme mod

e: the map tile is a very nifty tropical rainforest/mountain skerry, we'll be dirtying it up with lots of pollution in a bit

Yes, and those are pathable caves through the mountain surrounding it. That's a product of Geological Landforms, I think it's called "Secluded Valley". Really a neat mod!

No it just throws an exception complaining about no place to spawn a siege, also it has no interaction with or dependency on any of the biome mods as far as I know

E: regular desert tiles will have things like camels and iguanas, it's extreme desert that's super sparse animals

The super garbage thing about gauranlen dryads in general is the immense time throttle on them (time cost for building up bond strength, for spawning each dryad and again for metamorphosis to selected type), and absolutely locking the tree handler to the map. It requires the handler to not be gravely sick or injured or away on a caravan or colonist loan mission. Just feels like a massive investment before it pays off at all.

there is a checkbox in the animals UI to have them follow their master while doing regular work, although in this particular case it might be that the animals could not see the sightstealer due to its stealth bullshit so they didn't aggro on it.
