I have the track laid out, just need to do vocals and bass and guitars and keyboards. And drum fills. And fix the drums. So yeah, an extension would be much appreciated!

So what's the new deadline? Or is this dead already? Either way, I managed to do some stuff this weekend so here is a second version that is at least somewhat complete. I'd still like to add some solo stuff inbetween (towards the end between the first and second repetition of the chorus), hopefully I can get that done tomorrow. If not, this might even be the final version. I am actually pretty satisfied with it. Yeah, I am definitely still up for this.. I feel like I'm finally getting to the point where I can actually get something done. I guess the momentum just isn't there for this one, couldn't be bothered to further polish my entry either. I'm definitely up for whatever comes next, though!

Something that got proposed a few threads ago was we all do covers of each others' originals. Not as a RockStar or anything like that, but just to see how other people would interpret something we created.

I enjoy Photo is Your Muse and think it's a great idea, but I didn't contribute to the last two because I personally didn't find the selected photo very inspiring (sorry Thoogsby). If someone were to try to do those threads again, I think it'd be helpful to 1) select a couple different images and 2) include some paintings/drawings/collages/non-photos. Personally, I get a lot more inspiration out of an abstract or stylized painting than most photos, but that's probably just me. As it stood, there was only one photo, and so if you weren't into that photo then there was nothing to do.

And regarding the ideas above about contests involving originals: I've often thought it would be fun to do a thing for song parodies. Instead of picking a particular theme for the source song, pick a theme that the parody has to be about and let people pick whatever song they want. In other words something like "this time around, the theme is going to be FOOD" and people could do "You Cook Me All Night Long" or "Wish They All Could Be California Rolls", or something like that.
