A non blinding white background in the friends/xbox music apps would be nice. The whole UI is white on black, but those blow your eyes out in a dark room.

That update hasn't come out yet. It's supposed to provide tons of QoL upgrades but got delayed to "sometime this week" and its friday now so unless they plan on releasing on Saturday its seeming unlikely. Might get wrapped up into the also planned upcoming Here are Features We Need for Titanfall which for Some Reason We Didn't Launch With specific patch.

So do demo xbox ones even exist in stores yet? Its been like 4 months. Everyone has the same fake xbone, looping video and empty controller holders. I asked the guy at bestbuy and he said he was told it was due to low stock but then he pointed out they have 50+ sitting in the back of the store.

I've seen a total of one, which was in the same empty kiosk box as all the others, and the box even had "display only, not a functional unit" on it, so I suspect the Gamestop employees just put a real one in there to push sales.

The only playable game is Forza, but I finally got to touch the controller and try out the rumble triggers. They were kind of cool. The TV wasn't set up right though, and kept covering 1/3 of the screen with some kind of weird overlay (pictures of parrots??) At first I thought it was the Xbox doing it, but then I realized the overlay had the TV logo on it.

The only ones I've noticed were at a Microsoft store. Shortly before release they had a setup running with Killer Instinct and another outside with the dancing game. Then a few weeks back they had 4 or 5 setup throughout the store. All of them were playing Madden or Forza I think.

I've seen full kiosks but my experience is that our market gets all the cool poo poo at retail anyway. If something is going to only exist in 6 malls, the big one here is one of them.

Rather than something that would require work like making new models from scratch. All so you could switch between the OG graphics and the "new" graphics  . If I wanted the old loving graphics, I would have bought the old loving game. They should've just included a code for the GoD version of Halo 1, and used assets from 3 and 4.

They've got an automated process that's swapping valid codes for one system for codes for the other. Takes about two hours. Several of my friends said they had success doing this. On a related note, I just got my own beta invite. That said, a download code for a 4gb install arriving at 8pm means I won't get to play this until I'm off work tomorrow at least. Sort of a bummer, since I was really looking forward to playing tonight.

It is apparently caused by the same issue related to the Blu-Ray playback and other app issues where the Bone doesn't properly clear out its memory and those causes its apps to crash. A hard turn off fixes the issue right up but still. it'd be hilarious if it weren't dampening my ability to use one of my favorite things about the system.

I don't think this is taking a code away from anyone, as it's just giving you a fresh code to replace the used one you send them. I guess if there's theoretically a hard limit to the number of people they let in, you'd be kicking someone, somewhere, out of their place, but I doubt there is considering how many codes were/are being given away on twitter etc. Of course, it's still a scummy way to get a code and I can understand being against it for that reason. I doubt anyone is going to have a code that has no interest in it, though, because the only other reason to sign up for the beta at all would be to sell the code on ebay or something.
