I've watched every episode of JLU probably 3 or 4 times but I've still never watched all the way through JL

I like how the difference between when they have and don't have their plot armour is so blatantly obvious.

Without: Gets gloriously smacked about by the Punisher with a baseball bat (and HATE, of course).

Christ, why did anyone think Dan Slott was a good idea as a writer for the flagship chatracter again?

Probably the person who looks at sales figures. We may not like it, but spider-man hasn't stopped selling or anything.

It's detailed because the artist who is named on the cover only draws the important parts of the book. Assistants draw backgrounds and other things like that.

That's basically the complete opposite of how it works, except for the part where a guy like Oda won't get fired if he needs to take a week or two off.
Yeah I also don't think Oda has taken more than a couples weeks off since 1997

There are cases like Yoshihiro Togashi who has been very ill for years now and goes on hiatus constantly. He'll put out a couple chapters every few years but his series will never lose its spot in Jump until he dies or something.

Oda takes breaks a lot for a WSJ mangaka. In contrast Murata Yuusuke never took a single week off in all 300-odd chapters of Eyeshield 21's run.

I'm not sure he's taking breaks I always see those as the chapter just not being done since they usually announce it before hand when it's a scheduled break. Also Oda is doing writing and art so it's not really fair to compare their workload. I do think Murata is the better artist though.

That face is pretty hilarious tho.

It is good in the context of the next page. Thor had been using Thorr's hammer which only works if you are unworthy. He's about to ride into battle one last time and finds he can no longer lift it.

EDIT: But yeah the faces. Normally Deodato is bearable at least but I feel like he really phoned it in on the faces on those pages.

He has been drinking some healing thing called Dionesium which is why his face is attached and probably the reason he is able to physically match Bruce for a bit. Not to mention Bruce isn't really at the top of his game at that moment.

Yeah the Planetary version of Reed was lame as gently caress. Most of the last quarter of Planetary was pretty lame. It's hard for me to say though because I read those issues as they came out and the delays deflated the ever-loving gently caress out of the back half of that series anyway. It's depressing how it took seven years to finish a series that was supposed to wrap up before the year 2000.

I read it all over the course of a day and I thought it was pretty cool.

It's true, for the longest time, they seemed determined to contain him to his own title, but then once Way got a hold of him he was in EVERYTHING and got 3 other books, and was on a bunch of variant covers. I don't know if it was a situation where a higher-up changed, or if Way was pushing for the character, or what, but it was a really noticeable shift.

To be honest I had thought Deadpool had been way more popular since before then. I guess I came in right about that time though so I didn't have anything to compare it to.
