I found this image on the Internet, perhaps you've heard of it? It's been around for a while I hear.

Ate out on Friday. Went back to a barbecue place I hadn't been in years, and after $15 spent on a 2-meat plate and a fountain soda (shut up) where the brisket was dry, I definitely won't be going back any time soon even if the sausage was really good. To make up for it, I went to a wedding later that night and ate and drank a ton on someone else's dime -- and then when some of us old college classmates went downtown right after, both of my drinks were bought by others in the group who drink way more than I do. I did totally bust my normal calorie budget, though :btroll:

Also, I've been frustrated that I couldn't finish my taxes since E*Trade has lagged behind Vanguard in getting me a set of 1099 docs. Friday morning E*Trade emails me and says they're ready, yay! Before the wedding, I downloaded them and tried to see if H&R Block could import them online. NOPE! It says to wait until Sat/Sun at midnight. So I tried again this morning and H&R Block said the E*Trade server returned an error about last year's numbers:

code:
The direct download feature for your 2013 tax information will be available February 1, 2014.
2000-OFX-GENERAL-ERROR
Thanks, E*Trade!

I misread an email from my HR team taking about after-tax 401k contributions being possible (which I thought they had been for a while), and thought they were saying we could do in-service rollovers and Mega Backdoor on Roth IRAs. I was wrong; they still don't allow in-service rollovers and they were just bringing attention to recent IRS guidelines/decisions clarifying how after-tax contributions can be applied.

Doesn't matter much to me since I'm not near Roth IRA phase out, I'm just barely maxing trad. 401k/Roth IRA/HSA, and would rather have the lowered tax burden from the traditional 401k than contribute on a Roth or after-tax basis at this point anyway.

I don't think I'm prone to road rage, but I really don't know because I have about an 11 minute commute from my house's garage to the parking garage at work, even less on the way home in the evening. 7 each easy when there's no traffic.

I dread the idea of working at another location that would increase my commute by any more than another 10 minutes each way... I'm spoiled enough as it is.

Also - I am looking at airports now.

I don't actually know, but my guess would be that airport location rental pricing would put you at a significant hurdle to overcome vs. a mall. That's one of the reasons I fugue airport prices for everything are marked up so much, when it's not due to the captive audience reason.

Also keep in mind that with an airport booth, there'll be extra hassle staffing it or just getting to work yourself with security and parking to deal with every day.

When I learned about the 0 fee cards, I paid off $22,000 in private student loans that were at 5.8% using the BankAmericard with no fee and 0%APR over 15 months.

If you were to have entered bankruptcy for any unfortunate reason during that time, my understanding is that upon discovery of debts and payments and credit history, the amount of the student loans which were paid off via the credit card would stick with you because it would normally be non-dischargeable (and that trying to pay them off via credit card is like trying to get around that with a loophole).

Is that everyone else's understanding too?
