Kinda funny that Shields was cut and Maia is still hanging around after his two fight skid, one of which is a loss to Jake Shields.

I guess we can chalk up "being Brazilian" as another way to keep your job.

Brazilian loses fight, says it was all due to the skill of his opponent and injuries his opponent inflicted on him.

Edit: didn't even get to see that live as at the time I was absolutely trashed on vodka having the party of my life. Was worth it though. Looking that up reminded me the reason I have archives is because someone here ran a thread on guessing who Overeem's opponent at Dynamite would be and I got lucky with Todd Duffee. We need more contests like that.

UFC is a lot better for nobody really giving a poo poo if you have 9 losses on your record as long as they're to decent fighters. Better then every guy needing to be 903-0-0 (Def. Realguy Notfake at 1:23 of the 4th round via K.O.) before he's allowed to have a real fight and instantly becoming a bum if he loses.

Cain Velasquez was a staggering 2-0 when he debuted in the UFC and had not fought in 16 months. Chris Weidman 4-0. Johny Hendricks 5-0 (3-0 if you include WEC). Jon Jones 6-0.
