I wonder if Capt. Falcon and Ganon haven't been shown off because they're differentiating their move sets. It would be like when Sakurai said they held off on announcing Yoshi because they were changing his model to stand upright and why Sheik and Zero Suit Samus were announced after their former primary forms.

Could also explain Ness/Lucas for the same reason. As much as I like Ness's move set, it was Paula that had all that (except Starstorm, which was Poo).

Skullgirls allows you to play all the characters immediately in multiplayer but you have to unlock the "boss" characters to play them in single player. I think that's a good compromise, so you still get the fun of unlocking something but if you just want to play with friends you don't have to leave an AI only match fighting itself overnight.

UMVC3 has done drat near as much as possible with him. He has a pretty big moveset, Maya's even a big part of his playstyle.

This is the Ice Climbers haven't been revealed. They've been replaced by Phoenix and Maya working in tandem.

Subspace Emissary is one of the best examples of an incredible idea given the worst possible execution. If you could just play as Nintendo characters invading other Nintendo worlds and fighting people, it would have been amazing. As it stands, Melee's single player was closer to what people actually wanted.
