What the hell did you nutjobs do now exactly.

Some high level fleets were making millions offering access to their fleet holdings for non-fleet members to buy gear they didn't have unlocked in their own fleet stores. It doesn't actually cost the fleet inviting anything (save in the instance of fleet ships) if people buy from their stores, so there's really no need to be charging anything to 'cover expenses'. To address this we created a public channel where free invites to fleet holdings would be offered, thus saving the masses millions of EC which has subsequently angered the people who were charging for the same access.

Basically people hate us for being nice and stopping them from ripping off people.

Khem's back with a well-thought, insightful post about nerve tonics and disco:

quote:

First there was the mighty cheering by they who are so , so.. well what ever they're on about, about trek that the thought of a female character performing a possibly erotic dance emote was an anathma!

And a bit of complaining from the rest who said, "hey, were those not supposed to have been a GPL store item ohhh say about 2 years ago? We seem to recall a dev saying something about that".. and noting that suddenly we couldn't trade them between characters any more, on top of which they were a non stackable item in inventory... etc..

(And no male version of the same dance.. rather unfair to the ladies that enjoy chipendale dancers.. and a few of the boys that do to.. but that's another mater.. and liberal of thought as I am.. I'm not going into that particular pile of bigotous thought thank you very much.. but still, fair is fair!)

Maybe they'll correct a few things for I am rather tired of having to repeat that mission over and over... and over, to keep a stock of the silly thing on hand... and the workaround you have to do
to get any sort of supply of them.. ANd the fact that the party amps kill the emote when they go off, and any other running emotes anyones doing....

AND FIX THE DAMD PARTY AMPs YA LAZY SODS! If you please.. come on, your programmers how bloody hard is?

oh let me guess, not so simple after all because of the way emotes work, and the current state of the character is not a persistant data entry (obviously because if you zone into a dance party.. they may dancing on thier screen, but not on yours... sloppy work Cryptic, sloppy work. SO simple to fix

If (emote [ *emote type*] active) then set state 1 else set state 0
If emote state 1 then loop (active emote)
If State 0 then Emote state "idle"

Party Amplifier [check state]
If character state 1 end
If character state 0 then run [Party Amplifier Emote]

Thats pretty much how it might be done in basic...how difficult is it to write good old "if, else, then" statements after all?

Active emote cannot be overridden by any other but the player character, or special mission conditions NOT selectable by foundry users.

honestly Devs... if its a difficult fix, your going about it wrong!

You Cryptic folk seem to have more difficulty with animation issues, especially looped animations and remember animation states then any other.... And as one of your customers.. I think its pure laziness.

Just my opinion... and my evidence to support it...The party amps have been an issues with members of the community since you introduced them at last summers Risa event. Pretty sure the vast majority of your players would just as soon that they either go away, of be severly limited in where and how they can be used.. Seems to be a blind spot with the dev team of not looking at the way social items can be exploited to create a decidedly non social environment. It's happened with Q's party poppers, and went to a whole new level with the subspace party amplifiers.

Please consider a bit more self checking on social items before they get shoved on the player base.

First, and most obviously the FED's and KDF's are no longer at war.....why are we pretending that they are? I just find it mind blowing.

Second, how am I supposed to get drops when someone that choose the KDF side runs up on me and uses Beam Overload 3 to deal an utterly too swift blow (60k+ hit) that instantly destroys my ship.

Third, and the most annoying thing in the zone is the bop ship...T'varo/B'rel (apparently only the KDF side chooses these ships) and there seems to be a growing number of them

Today in Foundry Missions you really shouldn't play: Ballad of the Fleash Reaper (KDF)

Playtime: supposedly 90 minutes, actually 3 loving hours
Rating: 3/5
Canary: Suffocated
Dil reward: 1955(!)
Strengths: Dialogue
Weaknesses: Bad Science, Length, Ground Mobs, Namedropping Another Man's Hell

Short summary: Words alone cannot describe the endless padding this mission contains, especially in the ground parts. The dialogue is decently written, the characters are all discernable as different people and range from dumb to adequate for their role, and the story is okayish (although apparently inspired by Diablo). It either should have been a duology or cut a lot of the padding out. As it is it's basically an unbearable slog. Playable for its strengths (if you like Diablo or space chases I guess), but only after considering the length.

So, did you enjoy my suggestion? I still can't believe you spent 3 hours slogging through that.

Alternatively go hunt through the DOFFS by Function list over there and see what takes your fancy. It's worth noting that rarer ones like that AP conn officer are extremely expensive to come by these days so unless you're rolling in cash you might have to settle for something else.
