Nope, some assignments are just buggy. The first one in the ferasian chain is as well, as is scanning for chronometric traces.

I'd say start with dyson, just because the battlezone shits out marks.

That said, the daily mark bonus is making it easier to simultaneously grind.

I have a bit if a quandary at this point. My space damage blows compared to most (even pubbies) when involved in things like ISE. I'm doing my best to improve the easily identifiable things like weapons (using rom mk xii plasma DHC x3, dyson torp, cutting beam), skills, traits, and anything else I can think of.

Unless somebody can suggest a cardinal mistake that noobs make that I likely have, I'm thinking its time to upgrade either my ship (basic ha'feh now but would like to move to cruiser/whale) or start buying decent space boffs (Roms with sop).

Ant suggestions? I feel like the ignorant shitheel that should be doing better but isn't.

Voyager is more consistent with STO gameplay, however, given the "magic reset button" of respawning, the pitiable strength of the Borg, no persistent ship damage (unless at higher difficulties), and pillaging the loot out of your fallen enemies.

Voyager's interpersonal problems cranked up a notch once Jeri Ryan started dating Brannon Braga. Nothing makes actors pissier than the idea their costars are getting favored because they slept with the boss.

Anyone have advice on how to get a microphone to stop feeding back into speakers? Mumble starts screeching the moment any sound comes out of the speakers, even when I have push-to-talk enabled, and the button not pressed.

I dunno if that's related to mumble crashing on me or not - I'm guessing that means it's an issue with my audio drivers, but I really don't have a clue.

I was wondering if someone could give similar guidance on things a new level 50 should do, in terms of daily missions and longer term goals. I understand there are reputations to grind, dailies to bang out, a super rifle, but right now I feel accomplished if I keep my doffs busy and continue to do storyline missions. Goons - particularly devs - have been helpful and friendly in-game but even they have a tendency to use a lot of shorthand.

The Dyson Sphere BattleZone is the most fun you'll have in the game, as far as ground combat goes. It spews out dil and dyson marks like a giant purple crystal geyser. Especially if you shoot each V-Rex boss once and run to the next one, since you get bonus credit for each of the bosses you damaged.

Makes me wonder much of a clusterfuck the upgraded gear will be.

From what I understand, enemies got the same upgrades.

Torps are good for dealing large amounts of kinetic damage, they also don't drain your weapons power. The downside is that they don't get a damage boost from high weapons power, they have a short shared cool down so you can't fire them all at once, and any target with shields up gets a massive bonus to kinetic damage resistance.

You get good kinetic damage out of the Borg cutting beam anyways along with a good 2-piece set bonus so you really don't want one on a cruiser at all unless you're having issues with weapons power. They can be useful as a one-off on an escort since they fit into your front-arc and you usually have an extra tac skill for torp spread or high yield. Or you can go all in on a torpboat but they're are niche builds at best and utter crap outside of that niche.

Also, torp spread + gravimetric torps is just hella fun.
