I want to say that the Branch 40 build did something with lighting and shadows, but I can't seem to recall if STO was on Branch 40 or 35 prior to Season 9. The interior part of the Assimilation mission seems to have some more intense shadows and something like faux god rays that caused my game to chug a bit, also had some really bad frame rate using the tailor too.

Or I could just be crazy.

That is an Exploit attack that's exclusive to Rifle Butt. Pistols have their own melee Exploit, but larger weapons do not.

No way to tell what the baseline stats are for the Shields and Engines. I would assume that the cap on the shield will be much higher because it's a Covariant, but the +resists are the armor type; so it will count for hull, not shields.

The Engines may be slow for Hyper-Impulse, but the defense bonus looks good for speedtank ships that don't need the inertia bonus from the Counter Command Engines.

The Deflector is nothing special in my eyes.

From what I recall, the set will be Bind to Account, and if old versions get bumped up to be BoA along with the upgrade... The set will be really good for alts when they hit 50.

Contraband. Make Klingon alts and farm contraband. While you build up your doffs, run Vulture Wheel, a low level foundry mission that takes longer to load than to complete for 1440 dil + 960 for Investigate Officer Reports. Run trivia: http://stosite.com/the-path-to-2409-answers/. Hit up the dil mines. Once you get into your late 40s, Pi Canis raids and Breen dailies open up.

Contraband can be obtained from various 45 minute Marauding assignments found in the various "contested" sector blocks or 2 hour Disable Freighter assignments. For the 45s, you'll want 2 blue and 1 purple Tactical/Security Officers with Aggressive as a minimum for 0% failure. A non-aggressive purple tac/sec officer can be used in place of an aggressive blue.

Invest in doffs, research where you can get free ones.

The last time some PvP-centric goons went up against pvp bootcampers, all they did was spam consoles and we still beat them cleanly.

I'm doing ok with TR rifles myself, but there's maybe 3 people that'll churn out batches of 5 rifles trying for UR and just undercut each other to hell.

A lot of the other schools look like a wash.

I'm a long ways away from anything else 15. But if you're wanting Science and Engineering consoles, the best bet would be to just buy them directly from the exchange as the base Very Rare consoles are cheaper than the parts needed to make them.

As for anyone else wanting a rifle made: I am back in school and I work on campus now so I am fairly busy for most of the week. I can still take orders during the later parts of the week, so please get your materials/contra/parts/bribes/catalysts (two +25 cats are still the best bet, ~40% chance for Ultra Rare at about a million each as of this post) to me Wednesday night (murrica time). Rifles will be made three at a time in a first come first serve basis.

So aside from the dil/time cost of the actual upgrade, the system is very generous.

  • Going from Mk to Mk is 100%, only quality has a chance to fail and will build to 100%.
  • If you like your mods, you can keep your mods. Mods can only be added on: [Acc]x3 VR to [Acc]x3 [CrtD] UR.
  • Gold items get a special fifth mod.
  • Set items can now mix and match Mk numbers.
  • Mk Infinity items can be upgraded starting at 50. Possible 6 mod spiralwaves?

The only concerns now are the actual costs.

I think Hanger pets will be excluded for the time being as they have no ties to crafting.

Upgrading the reward set turns it into the lobi set, but upgrading the lobi rifle turns it into a blue Mk XII rifle with the same stats, maybe losing 1 dps.

The Aquarius is now a neat little beamscort, it can match the boff slots of the vet ship/jhec/scimitar. The lack of a 7th weapon will hurt it, but maybe the flanking plus the flanking specialization passive could help it out?

If you look on the hud that shows the target's health/shields, there will always be a little triangle on the arc you are firing at. The "rear" arc of anything will be that bottom arc.

Old Elite Borg STFS were 60+15 marks, now 50+25 for Advanced. Dil went from 960 to 480? I'm not 100% sure on the dil, queues were never my source of it.

You're gonna get +50% of raw ore from everything but certain event rewards, and double the ore from mining. So farm up now and you'll have more days where you can just log in, refine, and do nothing else.

Assuming an Infected Space run: 120 less on Normal. 240 less on Advanced. 480 more on Elite. Marks have evened out. It's not perfect, but it's a happy medium. STFs should never be a primary source of dilithium anyways.

One omni replacing a turret is a net gain. Even more if you have an extra tac ensign for overload 1. Even the cutting beam is a net gain once you factor in hits to bare hull.
