I figured I'd add another game to my play schedule in addition to EVE. Spaceships, yum. Drone1138@reekaro <- In game reekaro <- wiki account Not sure what I need to do to get accepted to the space club (because I'm stupid). Also, the tutorial did tell me how to turn auto fire on, unfortunatly I ignored the command as I was getting smacked around by some ships at the time. Also, does the wiki contain hints on basic play? Things like adjusting shields and power levels? I've gimped through some of the missions, but it sure would be easier if I could figured out how to redistribute shields, etc. EDIT: Note that I changed my main character, the first one was a bit of an abortion. So I am in the process of trying to put STO on another computer. I installed the Arc client, installed STO, and patched it. All appeared ok until I launched STO. I now have a black screen with the graphics cursor only, and the music chiming away. Is there anyway to lower the graphics res without successfully launching the game? Or a safe mode or something?

There was no advice dealing with what I saw (makes it past launcher, cryptic cylon bar, STO splash but dies at character selection). Even better, even know Im a gold customer, there is apparently a waiting period for posting to the support forum, loving stupid. FYI, for me the fix was as follows: 1. Launch launcher 2. Options -> Safe Mode 3. Once in game, select Esc, Settings (or whatever the screen is to adjust options) 4. Switch to windowed mode, and select DX9 instead of auto I also upgraded the graphics drivers for the PC and still occasionally get video driver crashes, but the game runs on the slow PC and looks like Im running it in CGI mode.

While damage doesn't seem that much higher in individual instances like the Borg or Nukara, it works exceedingly well with a team. And 1 button press is slick.

They previously had just about the ideal graph design for that sort of data and then they switch it to one that's entirely unsuitable. I've got to apologize for those of you that invited me (reekaro) to my very first KSE. I kept trying to play through a flaky router that had been acting up all night, and it went out in the middle of the mission. Nothing like having some goons try and help me out only to ratfuck them while helping me. Sorry about that, back to pubbing for a while, I don't care what happens there.

And I think they'll do that again, and update all of the lockbox ships to T6. There's just too much real money involved in past and future lockbox ships for them to ignore that. Unless I'm missing something, there is no incentive for them to update past lockbox ships and every incentive for them to not offer an upgrade. Introduce a Galor T6, and all Galor T5 owners will get instawood to have the latest and greatest. Those that don't pine for the upgrade are just taking up bandwidth.

I have a bit if a quandary at this point. My space damage blows compared to most (even pubbies) when involved in things like ISE. I'm doing my best to improve the easily identifiable things like weapons (using rom mk xii plasma DHC x3, dyson torp, cutting beam), skills, traits, and anything else I can think of. Unless somebody can suggest a cardinal mistake that noobs make that I likely have, I'm thinking its time to upgrade either my ship (basic ha'feh now but would like to move to cruiser/whale) or start buying decent space boffs (Roms with sop). Ant suggestions? I feel like the ignorant shitheel that should be doing better but isn't.

I'd do that before worrying about your turrets which should eventually get upgraded to mk xii's to match the DHC's. It sounds like tac consoles and valdores are first on the list. Grinding FC should become a whole lot easier as I finish the colony chains and begin to have decent quality doffs roll in for grinding. Thanks for the feedback, I sincerely appreciate it.

Thronde posted:Sub-Level 10 someone was trying it last night and spent 15 minutes doing one patrol, but that was in the Miranda. Once you get the first level 10 ship, it's probably not as bad. I'm going to make a pair of new chars (Klank and Fed) and run the respective regions mapping out each patrol and what it is (If they don't change from system to system). Seems that Patrols even with doing them solo would be faster than the majority of missions that have you running back and forth not shooting for 15 minutes. Plus no cutscenes. I only ask because I personally believe a fantastic edition to the wiki would be a guide on some of the fastest ways to power level from 1-50. Honestly, once one has done the fed/kdf/rom stories once for shits and giggles, they shouldnt have to be endured again for alts being leveled up. Unless you are into that sort of thing.

The superstars who've played a great deal know the ins and outs of what does and doesnt need to be run again for alts. Let me preface by saying that I'm one of the least skilled players in Dental/NoP, I'm flying a Scim that is not properly equipped, and I'm in a house that is two blocks away from a street festival that attracts drunks and loud noises. I just got out if a CCE where me and two other toons were apparently the only ones that had any sort of clue about what needed to happen to complete the mission. None of the fragments were managed so a death zone appeared which instantly blipped the lower level ships. I dealt with it by flying a 5km circle around the entity and spamming FAW. Took a good 15 mins to get from the last pulse to death. Are pubbies really that much worse than I am? Also, am I the only one that ran CC on normal a few times to understand how it worked ?

Deanna Troi in early TNG needed a truss and glue to hold her uniform on. The Feds have always had a multitude of uniforms both in canon and in STO.
