As someone who came to the states from Australia, I liked Colorado the most because it has crazy beautiful mountains and a high percentage of chill people. I really like michigan once I got over how loving cold it is. The car scene is awesome, the city is starting to come back, property is cheap, and we have no sort of auto inspections whatsoever. Also it's relatively dry in Colorado so the snow isn't as heavy as the snow we get in michigan/northern Midwest so yeah. I liked Tennessee quite a bit as well but I only went to Nashville and some other big city and everyone was crazy nice and laid back while not being obviously racists or GRRR OBAMA or whatever but what do I know I'm sure someone here can tell you more about it than me

We hit it at 5am this Friday, after leaving Guam at 0630 this Friday, and have to get our bags, then go back through security and make our next flight at like noon. AFAIK both smoking and vaping are illegal in public places in California and unless you have a high pg juice or can hold it in for a long time and not be obviously vaping, I don't see how you'd get caught

I like chase because there's a branch on every corner, their app is pretty good, and I can quickpay my brother cash if/when he needs a loan, which is nice. I just use two chequing accounts, one nicknamed savings and the other checking, that way I'm not limited on transfers per month because I tend to put too much into savings when I get my paycheque then need to transfer $20 here and there until the next cheque comes

I need renter's insurance and I apparently get a good discount through MetLife. Does anyone know anything about them and if they're good/bad?

I just watched three seasons of Archer and two seasons of The Venture Bros over the last two days. Suddenly I understand so many of your guys references. Archer is pretty good but I feel like I didn't laugh nearly as much as I did during TVB

What's the verdict on Rangers and Nissan Hardbodies? I would love a ute but since those are pretty much non-existent under $5,000 (and afaik the only American ute was the El Camino and some Ford iirc) I guess I have to settle with a small pickup. edit: windows phone is cool looking but the lack of apps was a huge turnoff for me.

T1g4h posted:I'm not a huge fan of AssCreed games but 4 is pretty loving great. Treat it like Sid Meier's Pirates! but all grown up and you'll have the right idea. Customizable, upgradable ship with an open world where you can sail, capture defeated ships to start a merchant fleet, fight legendary ships for special upgrades, go diving for blueprints, capture forts to call your own, search random islands for treasure... I mean yeah, there's a story, but it takes a massive backseat to the exploration and free roam. AC4 is pretty much amazing. Like, it's my favorite game to come out recently, it's that good. Unless you have time to go to the Henry Ford Museum, no not really. Ann Arbor is fun to walk around and go drinking in but there is very very little to do in Southeast Michigan at this time of year.

IOwnCalculus posted:Since when did Shine a) mod AI and b) drive a Ranger? Good to know, I was thinking of selling my IRL before absolutely nobody wants a Delta thanks to the recalls, but apparently I'd only be able to get around $3500 for it up here, which means it's gone down by $1500 in the last two months. I'd rather keep it and tear the engine/trans out to put on a sand rail and melt the body panels in the shape of a penis outside of the Renaissance Building. My fiancée wants me to get a truck and I prefer utes, but sadly a good Ranger would cost too much and the only utes I can get here are either $3000 non-running POS El Caminos or $25,000 mulletmobile El Caminos.

I finally took my car in for the recall since it had failed on me back in March and the parts have been backordered etc etc. They gave me a 2014 Beetle, and I actually kind of like it. It's fun, it's peppy, it's got a gigantic boot compared to my IRL, and it's got a fantastic interior compared to my IRL. I've been giving it some thought, and while it won't be an upgrade, I'm seriously considering ridding myself of my IRL, as much as I love it. Over the next year or two I'm going to need a truck so me and my soon-to-be-wife can be "spontaneous", ie buy furniture and other things that totally wouldn't fit in my IRL. If I can get $3500 to $4000 for it, I can put in $1000-$2000 and get a 4.0 V6 Ranger in decent condition, though the trick will be finding one. I don't get my car back for a month, so hopefully I can find a buyer and a decent truck around the same time I get it back.

Powershift posted:I would imagine every potential GM brand loaner has some corvair-like defect and is awaiting it's own recall repairs to make it less of a rolling sarcophagus. Yeah, they had enterprise come pick me up from the dealer and basically told me that since I told them it's shut down on me once already they really don't want to be held liable if it happens again. Apparently I skipped a three week wait list . Also the dealer I took my car to owns a VW dealership next to them so that may or may not be related...

Today we had a guy escorted out of the store when he threatened to kick my rear end for not replacing his battery for free after he admitted that he got drunk and dropped it in a urinal and he was two years out of any sort of warranty or AppleCare+. I had no idea my job could be this exciting sometimes!

Dogs are awesome because they love you no matter what but sometimes they love you too much and it's like woah boy I'm trying to do stuff here. Cats are awesome because they're crazy low maintenance compared to dogs but only seem to be interested in you when you don't want them to be.

I got a flat tyre today so Enterprise, who is handling my recall loaner, upgraded my 2014 Beetle to a 2014 Elantra. It's pretty utilitarian but it does a good job and it has a USB hub so I'm happy
