Understand that this is NOT a finished game. The current images and video show the most recent version of the BUILDING aspect of the game. The game is not purely sandbox, that just happened to be what was functional at the time of Greenlight launching and what we felt might interest people the most.

As a final note, we would not be working on a game unless we felt that we could improve the genre. We understand how you would think we were not doing so based on the current images/video, but know that there is much more in store than what you see right now.

DESCRIPTION:

Diggle is an independent 2D side scrolling action RPG that allows you to play in a variety of different ways. In adventure mode, you must embark on a quest where you visit mysterious lands and defeat monsters for justice. In survival mode, you must gather materials and craft powerful pieces of equipment in order to make it through the night. In creative mode, you have an unlimited number of resources to build whatever your heart desires.

ADVENTURE MODE:

Adventure mode features a single-player campaign with an awesome story line. An elderly man is looking for an adventurer to retrieve his stolen possessions. However, no one is up to the challenge because they are afraid to leave their small town. The elderly man eventually convinces you to go on the quest. You are then required to fight your way through various environments and slay everything that gets in your way. It is not an easy task but it must be done for the greater good of helping the old. Are you up to the challenge?

SURVIVAL MODE:

Survival mode features a randomly generated world with resources you have to gather yourself. You are required to dig, mine, and chop for materials. Materials can then be used to craft placeable objects, potions, tools, weapons, and armor. However, it is not an easy task for there are monsters to stop you from doing so. Different monsters are randomly spawned above the ground, below the ground, during the day, and the during the night. Additionally, the deeper you dig the more powerful they become. You must craft better equipment in order to continue working towards your goal of reaching the bottom of the map. What is at the bottom of the map you ask? It could be a giant piece of cake... or it could be something much more sinister!

CREATIVE MODE:

Creative mode features a randomly generated world with unlimited resources. Objects can be placed instantly and they can be removed just as fast. You are not required to gather materials or craft anything to build the castle of your dreams. You start with a fully maxed out character with absolutely everything unlocked. Various aspects of the game can be turned off as well. For example, you can turn off the day/night cycle and monster spawns if you so desire. The only limitation in creative mode is your imagination.

KEY FEATURES

Sandbox: Completely destructible environment for certain modes of play.
Random Worlds: Experience a unique environment every time you create a new world.
Multiplayer Support: Play with your friends in survival mode and creative mode online or via LAN.
Hero Customization: Adjust your character's hair style, facial hair style, hair color, skin color, and armor color at any time.
Single Player Campaign: Adventure through a series of quests.
Character Progression: Become more powerful as you play through the game.

We start out just before Abraham leaves Haran, and because the main character is someone joining Abraham’s caravan, you’re right in the thick of the action.

Hundreds of characters, ancient cities, and hours of engaging sub-plots await in the immersive open game world of “The Call of Abraham.” Players will not only be entertained as they build their character and face intriguing challenges, they will also have the opportunity to enrich their knowledge of the history and cultures surrounding Abraham’s famous journey.

We've completed almost all of the programming, our terrain, and most of the characters. We are using Kickstarter to expedite the process with completing and optimizing all of the 3d models, cinematics, and bringing it up to production standards.

Let's talk a little more about the game. Here are some tidbits:
Bible Chronicles: The Call of Abraham is a single player, third person role playing video game which follows the story of Abraham in the Bible. The player takes on the role of a fictional Elamite outcast who is hired onto Abraham's caravan before departing Haran.
In the time of Abraham, much of Canaan had fallen under the controlling of the rising power of Elam to the east. As the player character is an Elamite outcast, this could present complications for the player throughout the game.
Players will adventure in an open world spanning from Egypt to the eastern parts of Mesopotamia, completing tasks to help Abraham on his journey.
Numerous subplots bring depth and flesh out the historical and cultural context of the story, including the background story of the player character himself.
We believe that the terrain is one of the largest ever made for an adventure video game and would take many days of non-stop exploration to view it entirely if that was all that you did.
The player character has multiple sets of attributes to build up throughout the adventure, including physical and mental attributes, and various skills and proficiencies.
Among the many activities in which the player will engage in, combat is an important element. There were many perils in the lands which he traveled and sojourned, from both man and beast.
History is uncertain of which Pharaoh reigned during the time of Abraham's visit to Egypt. For the game, we chose Senusret I. Both timelines and historical recorded conditions during his reign make him a strong choice.
As it is in real life, eating and drinking are important to survival in the game. For this reason, among others, it will be difficult to reach certain places.
Ur was at one time a great and powerful city state. By the time of Abraham's departure, however, it had already fallen to Elam. Though in the game the story begins in Haran, there may be reason for the player to travel to Ur.
Not as popular as Memphis or Thebes, Itwjawy became the capital of Egypt for a time during the 12th Dynasty which was at the time of our story.
In the Battle of Siddim, Chedorlaomer the King of Elam allied with three other kings to wage battle against five cities of southeastern Canaan. These events bring about an important revelation in the game.
Susa, one of the oldest and most splendorous cities of the ancient world, was not a place where Abraham was recorded to have visited, but it will have a role in the game.
