Are sharing stories about just generally depressing social media things. Lately a friend of mine has just been out of control with posting Anti-Feminist/Anti-Women rants culminating in posting a link to Return of Kings describing about how the website 'nailed it.' A website, I found out, contains such choice quotes as "I often hear women do not report rapes right away because they are ashamed or humiliated to report that it ever happened. This is pure bullshit."

I considered pointing out to him that he's posted a link to a rather vile website, but I imagine my cries would just fall on deaf ears as he has in the past used the term 'beta male' ironically. It's sad to see someone I once considered a close friend go kind of off the deep end into complete insanity.

That nod- which is BODY LANGUAGE- is a legally usable yes against me. If I said NO to the same question early, it can be disregarded for the YES I told with my body.

Now, let's look at sex.
Let's say a man and a woman are in a situation where they are about to have sex.

The woman is grinding on the guy, he asks if she wants to, and she says no... and continues grinding.

The grinding is a YES according to body language.
The statement is a NO according to verbal consent.

Yet, if the man were to choose the YES, and ignore the NO,
and she does not resist or fortify/clarify which of the 2 messages she's sending, she has the ability to later accuse him of rape, because the law ONLY LOOKS AT THE VERBAL COMMUNICATION and not the non-verbal communication...

...until interrogation time, when this gets disregarded.

Explain to me how that is not totally F'd up?

Lately, I've been getting interested in science literacy/outreach and as such, I've recently followed Science Babe and Chow Babe facebook pages as they try to address misconceptions people have about things like GMOs and vaccines. (I've been considering setting up a page like this myself) One of their favorite targets is the Food Babe who goes around "teaching" people about food and health. This picture sums up the grasp of her scientific knowledge:



It scares me that people listen to her and take her seriously...
