When it comes to Vodka, I'm partial to potato vodkas instead of grain. The very best, smoothest I've found is also dirt cheap. Monopolowa, has its origin in Poland but is currently made in Austria, costs only about $15 for a liter bottle. A liter bottle fits neatly into the freezer and is ready for any occasion. You can spend more but why, when you can buy something that's this good for less. Plus, the bottle has that proletariat look that says gently caress you Chopin, and Grey Goose too.

For Rum, I've tried just about all of the high end, and low end also, but nothing beats Myer's Rum. Unfortunately, it's pricey also. I like Mount Gay too but, after Myer's, everything else tastes watered down. I've never had the Ron de Barillito so I'll need to give that a try. A drink that will get you in trouble because it tastes just like soda pop is Dark Rum and ginger beer, a good real live ginger beer, not that ginger ale crap. Cock & Bull is a good ginger beer.

And if you've got ginger beer and vodka, may as well mix up a Moscow Mule or two+. Just add limes and traditionally, a copper mug.

Between Bush's program of building the infrastructure and legal opinions to allow for a massive crackdown, and the fact you don't spend 80 billion dollars a year to track illiterate assholes in afghan caves, it really seems that the elites know everything is about to go to poo poo and have focused on stealing everything they can before it goes to poo poo, and using mass repression to hold it afterwards. But that would require a level of understanding, foresight, planning, and control that just doesn't show up at any level when you actually look at these guys. If it was A) poo poo like the Great Recession wouldn't have happened, and B) they'd probably be tilting towards more cost effective solutions to buy the plebes off. The truth is those bastards are every bit as dumb and uncoordinated as anyone else, and this is more an emergent phenomena of "Hey, James sells military grade gear to police forces, lets let James get in on this gravy train, he'll come to me for a loan to expand his plants, so I'll get a bigger 'performance' bonus!" Thinking there is anyone at the wheel, anyone with a plan, anyone who can pull us all through it even if it isn't in our individual best interests, is just wishful thinking and that quirk of the brain where we ascribe thinking actors to observed random patterns.

We are so completely and utterly hosed.

Basically this but not coordinated. It's just a bunch of assholes destroying everything by acting in their own individual self interests. It only looks like they're colluding because we're all being so thoroughly shafted from all directions simultaneously.

And it wasn't even a thing until he made it one. Any real investigation won't just be a ridiculous circle jerk about finding fake facts but will reveal that actual people are to blame and I would guess the party that loves cutting government departments might have a hand in it. Much better to fan fake flames and get your base angry over something that isn't real and thus ultimately toothless.

That assumes they're interested in finding the root of or solution to the issue rather than just using it as a cross on which to hang any sort of socialized health care.

Well, guess we'll find out, because now that Benghazi has been taken away from him, I'm sure Issa will be starting an investigation any moment now.

What I'm reading is that the military provided the list and the White House's mistake was not catching the station chief's inclusion on it before distribution.
