There were 2858 Mcoupes made over 5 years for North America so that is vaguely rare.
I think there were under 2000 Lotus Eclats built but I sold that a while back.
Also had a Fiat x1/9 with a Yamaha V4 motorcycle engine in it, I hope to god only one of those exists.

How was the Lotus Eclat? Someone has one a couple blocks over from where I live as a winter beater (when it's nice out they have a `79 Esprit out)

In England it would be great, but I live in the states so it was either fab something up or pay a hundo for shipping. I spent a decent amount of time on the lathe making random crap for it. If I had it to do again I would have spent more and bought an elan+2 or a first gen esprit but for a toy to gently caress around with and learn new stuff on it was great.

Definitely get the later model one with the toyota transmission and brakes, then when the 907 engine get boring or blows up put in a 1uz with itb's.

Full disclosure edit: I should mention that in the six years I owned it I put maybe 5500 miles on it and got to the point where I could pull the engine and transmission in half an hour. Also it was referred to as "The Lotus of Infinite Despair".
