I'm literally only following this thread to watch you guys continually dunk on this JRod/polymathy fellow at this point, great stuff.

This seems like a good time to mention I do have academic background in history studies, including American history, and among academic historians the strong (overwhelming, really) consensus is that slavery was the cause of the American civil war. It was at the heart of the Confederacy's grievances with the greater union, they made it the cornerstone of their entire society, in writing, when they attempted secession in the first place.

Any academic historian who claims otherwise is assumed to be wrong because they would basically have to change current understanding of all historical records and analysis about that time in US history into meaning something completely different in order to prove their position correct.

I'm actually surprised there's still people who think IQ is a real thing. It was basically considered on the same footing as Phrenology in terms of credibility when I was in University, and that was in the late 2000's.

Gotta admit, everything polymathy wrote after asserting that managing to stay rich off inherited wealth is something that takes a lot of intelligence and hard work became a blurry, unreadable mess.

Not only is JRod not coming off as an "above average intelligence" haver, that was straight up loving dumb if he believes it, and a lie only a dumb person would attempt to pass off as truth if he doesn't.

Oh, wait, the only reason that someone would do that is because they hope to do something horribly immoral and illegal with said currency and they don't want to be caught. It's the high-tech version of people who complain about 'big gub'ment' - they are complaining because the government is stopping them from doing something heinous and horrible and, just like sadistic and vicious children, they resent authority telling them not to bully others.

My dream w/ regards to crypto is finding a way to rip off a bunch of crypto miners and getting rich off my stolen internet money and them having absolutely zero legal recourse because they were the ones who wanted any regulatory oversight exempted from their magic beans.

I dunno, I hear it's pretty good for drugs.

I noticed Libertarians like to paint Karl Marx as this lazy freeloader that "didn't work a day in his whole life". Which is funny given that they are arguing about the merits of a man who died over a century ago, whose writings and philosophy is discussed to this day. They'll put up evidence like this article which paints Marx much like Lowtax in a cookie devouring patreon funded layabout kind of way.

What bugs me about this is that even if Marx was what they would consider "hardworking" it's not like they'd consider him any more credible. They'd just call him a him a hypocrite ("you hate capitalism, yet you produce things for profit! I am very smart!").

"The money that his father sent to him for tuition at the University was spent on food and drink, with many of his nights spent at coffee houses and taverns getting drunk and arguing about Hegelian philosophy with other students."

Marx sounds cool as hell and I bet he got his friends drunk with daddy's money too.

I love it when I go to the ballot box early and they give me extra votes as a result, just like this very accurate demonstration of how democracy works in this idiots class.
