Also the duggar situation makes me wonder how a libertarian would solve this, oh wait don't tell me, children exist only for what their parents determine.

Straight-up, jrodefeld, have you ever actually read Human Action in its entirety, or merely excerpts and bastardizations of it from Rothbard essays? Because if you're looking for a reading list and you haven't read Human Action, you should probably do that before relying on bits and pieces of it or trying to convince others with it.

Would I be wrong in accusing Misses of extreme utilitarianism here, because he seems to be taking issue with "Thou shall not kill" as a general rule right?

Mises I think is saying

1. It's a nonsense to say that thou shalt not kill is a law of nature, because in nature people kill themselves all over the place.
2. Thou shalt not kill is therefore a rule we have come up with
3. Because we only do things for what we perceive to be our own betterment, these rules against killing primarily as a way of furthering our own perceived interests

It's actually philosophically non-controversial to say there is no natural law against killing so that particular aspect is non problematic.

It must just be his writing style because the way he says it just seems kind of extreme. But then this is LVM.

Of course they would only be using violence on property that they are authorized, and Reisman and other Austrians wouldn't support violence in areas they are not authorized.

LVM is not respectable because he was a repulsive person who associated himself with fascists, defended imperialism even when it was on its wane, and thought the worse excesses of capitalism were great,. He was a male Ayn Rand except worse in every way. Also he turned off many in the libertarian community by accusing them of socialism for just discussing taxation.

The Top 3 Ways the Gas Chamber Helps Jews Escape Auschwitz, or, In Defense of the Gas Chamber

1. Death by gas chamber is mutually beneficial for the Jews and the Nazis. The gas chamber is the Jews' best option. It's certainly better than the firing squad, or being eaten by dogs, or being experimented upon by mad scientists. And the Nazis get rid of undesirable Jews. Everybody wins.
2. Eliminating the gas chamber would reduce the options available to the Jews, hindering their escape from the horrors of Auschwitz.
3. While it may not be ideal, at least it is doing something to bring about the Final Solution, and doing something about it is obviously better than doing nothing about it.

I'd just ask questions about death squads being paid by companies in honduras to prevent workers of the sweatshops from unionizing. Ask them if the workers have the right to take corrective action against the person who hired the death squads.

Being thats its psuedo Buddhist and totalitarian with a maxed out population its sounds like someplace from a Sid Meier game.

That said, someone on these forums (probably either in this thread or in CineD) floated the idea of scifi species being based on ideological/philosophical caricatures instead of racial ones, and I would watch the hell out of that. A giant ancap/feudal warzone with Mohist fleets trying to contain the carnage, a Hobbesian empire trying to save everyone from themselves, etc.

Hobbesians are the Dominion.

Also I thought Andromeda had some promise at first at least until Sorbo decided to fire the show runner.

I can watch individual episodes of TNG. But I basically have to skip 80% of first season and about half of the second season. Likewise it just seems dated at times with its plots. Still has my all time favorite Star Trek episode. The inner Light.
