First time we've qualified for two world cups in a row!

Since Bielsa left us after the last world cup we had Claudio Borghi take charge. We played good but after a while the team went to poo poo and lost a several games in a row. I think it was all the asados he was putting on for the team.

Enter Jorge Sampaoli, Coach from La U who took them to win their first internation cup. The national team started play like they played for bielsa, and guess what we qualified. So now sampaoli is considered superman

Current squad

Keepers

Claudio Bravo - Real Sociedad

Johnny "asesino" Herrera - Universidad de Chile

Cristopher Toselli - Universudad Catolica

Defence

Gary Medel – Cardiff City FC (Inglaterra)

Gonzalo Jara - Nottingham Forest (Inglaterra)

José "Pepe" Rojas - Universidad de Chile (Chile)

Miiko Albornoz - Malmö FF

Midfield

Mauricio Isla – Juventus (Italia)

Marcelo Díaz – Basel FC

Carlos Carmona - Atalanta

Arturo Vidal – Juventus

Francisco Silva - Osasuna

Felipe Gutiérrez - FC Twente

Charles Aránguiz - Sport Club Internacional

Jean Beausejour - Wigan Athletic

Jorge "Please do not give him alcohol" Valdivia - Palmeiras

José Pedro Fuenzalida - Colo-Colo

Forwards

Eduardo Vargas - Valencia

Mauricio Pinilla - Cagliari

Esteban Paredes - Colo-Colo

Fabián Orellana - Celta de Vigo

Now I know some of you might be confused "But aren't you Australian? don't you support Straya oval office dj_pain?" I was born in chile and moved over here when I was five. When the draw was announced I was pretty pissed off but now I've come to accept that I have to follow chile as I was born there.

I can't remember the last time Isla was actually played as a defender. He's a midfielder really. Are Chile still playing with a 3 man backline?

They've been playing a 433 or 343, just depends on the opponent. Also the same can be said about Garry Medel.

Mark González. He's been playing in russia for the past couple of years and is currently on loan in chile. I don't think sampaoli rates him.

We ended up winning 3-2 but looking like poo poo. Our defense is very weak and improvised, the midfield has to play a lot better if we want to stand a chance against Spain and Netherlands.

if you look at our defensive line when we started was pushing too high up which Egypt exploited and chile got punished. The good thing was sampaoli realised this and made the changes needed.

The doctor that performed Vidal's knee surgery said today that the earliest he should consider playing is July 7, or else he faces a big risk of re-aggravating the injury. Of course, he's playing already, which is what you'd expect from him.

RIP Vidal's knee, just RIP.

Yes, not sad if Chile's best player and one of the worlds best midfielders doesn't play, is something only a retard would say.
But in all honesty I doubt he'll play against Australia because there's probably no need to have him there.
