i'm going to give you time to realize how dumb that was so you can edit it out seriously you don't really think more advertising automatical equals higher quality do you? because if so, lol plenty of those had no marketing and got popular by word of mouth only. there are also a lot of indie games also have a lot of "marketing: and are low quality. also AAA games spend shitloads on marketing and doesn't mean they're high quality (thi4f).

I can appreciate the amount of work and design that went into la mulana, and much of the game I did find challenging and fun, but as the game progressed it went from clever puzzles to obtuse guesswork to 'attack all the walls and hope something happens' And that's just not that great.

There are definite optimal plays and techniques, familiarity with the events can give you an upper hand, as well as knowing when to cut and run, and how to level farm crewmates can be beneficial. There is also a lot of choice as to how to spend scrap as 2 stores are guaranteed per map and they are usually not too hard to find.

Having to adapt to your situation is part of the fun of FTL. It's possible (but rare) to get a really unlucky run that you can't win, but most of the time, if you make the most of what you got, you can salvage your run.
