Serious replies only please. I'm trying to make chicken tandoori with tandoori seasonings without the yogurt but I was told by my wife that the yogurt is sacrosanct with the recipe. I want to prove her wrong.

Cut chicken
Pour tandoori seasoning on chicken
fry chicken.

If you don't use yogurt (Indians don't use Greek yogurt) and don't use a clay oven, it really isn't tandoori. It's just chicken with Indian spices.
That said, my mom used to make chicken with tandoori spices and olive oil to cook on the barbecue.
