The thing I like about that is that they will lie/mislead you with them. Like they'll pop up in conversations with a person who will be dead by the end of the conversation.

It didn't say they'd remember it for very long.

The game's atmosphere on your first playthrough is great and your first drake encounter is pretty amazing if you're under levelled. What I love about it though is that it's Berserk. The dev team really did their best to nail the atmosphere of that series as best they could without just straight up being a Berserk game and the NPCs and story are full of references to it.

In the console version you could get Guts' and Griffith's armour sets.

Dishonored agrees - it tracks Stealth/"Assault" totally separate from Lethal/Non-Lethal, or at least 2 does. IIRC 1 doesn't care what you do with the former, which isn't an approach I exactly mind.

Hitman: Blood Money did this too. After each mission you'd see the newspaper article about what just happened, as publicly perceived. Live witnesses meant there'd be more detail about you. If everyone's dead then they just know that someone's psychotic.

I eventually S-ranked it by charging through the middle of the base on my pink combat robot at top speed, blasting Take on Me and going too fast for anyone to catch me, and bailing out just before I fell into the elevator shaft at the end. Because my robot fell into the elevator shaft and disappeared I even got the No Traces bonus

essentially MGSV is one of the best games ever made

Tales of the Borderlands is a fantastic little game. You can tell when the original Borderlands writer gets involved though - characters start ranting about homophobia and misogyny in one scene, when it's never come up before. :v:

The Secret World, again, does something similar. You're not the Chosen One, you're a Chosen One - the abstract god/concept/thing/whatever that's empowered you has actually empowered several thousand people to protect itself and, by extension, Earth.

There's even a couple of late game cutscenes where you see your mission handler dealing with newly empowered NPCs that are walking around in the same goofy clothes, wearing the same vacant :downs: expression.

In one early mission the bad guy grumbles that there's no point killing you, you'll just respawn.

On a later mission you go up against several (NPC) Agents from another faction. Every time they die they respawn at the nearest Agartha portal, meaning you kill them repeatedly as you try to make progress.

One of the things about the Mad Max game that differentiated it from arkham is Max' comparative lack of mobility; Occasionally when playing Arkham games the game would misinterpret my input slightly and Batman would vault over the guy I wanted to hit and punch a goon I hadnt even seen because they were off screen. Max never does that, he pretty much just hits the guys he can reach, feels much more grounded.
